What was your method to remove the broken stud?

It appears your method to install the new stud was to use a washer and a lug nut to pull the new stud into the hub hole.

That is correct. I raised up the car, I removed brake caliper housing (you can use wire, rope or bungey cord to suspend caliper). Make sure to either keep your driver side door closed during this process or, disconnect the battery. The Prius pressurizes the calibers when you open the drivers door and if you have the caliper off of the disc.....................Yep, cancel Christmas.

I just tapped the broken bolt out. I used the socket to "pull" the new stud through using the lug nut. I don't remember where in this site I posted my process, but it was a complete success. Took under 15 minutes. You have to remove the brake caliber housing otherwise you cannot reach the bolt. Good luck.

Never occurred to me before, but I bet an enterprising sort could straight-up use the brake caliper after unbolting it (along with a couple nearby junk-drawer bits) to press the stud out. Instant roadside repair....
