had the Prime into the dealership at 9992 miles today, standard service per Toyota's plan incl 1st oil change.
My EV ratio said 61%, suggesting only ~ 4k ICE miles which makes me feel not too bad waiting this long for the 1 oil change (I used to do it at 5k in my 2 Gen3s).
The paperwork said for both from and rear (Toyo "Nanocrappers") 8mm remaining which would indicate that they might last for 50k+, will have to see ... they did set the tire pressure at 43/42, and for me the Toyo's don't feel that bad at that pressure, I have yet to experience rain and slippery conditions so my opinion might change.
A little surprising to me that they measured my brake pads at 80% front and 90% rear, that seems low, suggesting far less than 100k ... while I don't remember the numbers for my Gen3, usage suggested to get 200k or so out of the brake pads, will have to monitor this.
Nothing else to report, whole service took about 1 hr ...

brake pad 'measurement' at a dealer is a quick eyeball, if they look at all. in a few more services, they'll tell you it's almost time to replace them.
then you go somewhere else, and they tell you they look like new.

yea, this is a new dealer for me so I will keep an eye on that, and, I have plenty dealerships to choose from in my area ...

One thing i noticed today, switched through the trip meter and they reset my "A" trip, i had reset that when i left the dealership at the day of purchase, didn't happen at the 5k service and if memory serves correctly, in the Gen3 you reset the maintenance indicator via Trip A ... so whoever did it, was not thinking straight or had never worked on a Prime or maybe had a bad day ... so next time for service, I shall mention it, if I remember in 3 months from now

The Gen 4 does not reset from the trip meters. It is a separate menu under Settings on the MID.

Back a bit over a decade I tried to stick with dealership service for a while. One visit they said the brakes were at 70%. The next visit, they said they were at 80%. I often wonder how they come up with "percent", as opposed to "you have 6 mm remaining".

What kind of oil did they put into it?

  8. Similar reporting on my brakes when I had my Prius c. At one point they were just entering the yellow, and then 6 months later, they were back in green. *shrug*
    10% estimate sounds typical.

my second service at 15k, they told me my tires were cupping and i needed an alignment. i said no, drove it for 50,000 miles and replaced the tires. they were fairly evenly worn.

At my Highlanders 24K service, the report listed low tread and uneven wear. That's how crappy the stock tires were that they needed to be replaced after less than two years. The interesting part here was that I actually did replace them less than a month before it was taken in for service. When I pointed this out to the service manager, he simply shrugged and stated that it must have been a typo.

Since then I've put another 20+K miles in my set of Michelin Defenders and they look practically new still. Crappy tires are just that.

Had my 20k service today, nothing major to report ... 0W20 oil/filter change, tire pressure 43/42, tire tread depth 7/32 front 6/32 rear, brake pads 10mm all around ... nothing else really other than engine and cabin air filter are marked as "yellow" (as opposed to green or red) but i guess they're not included as part of the free 2yr/25k maintenance ... total time was < 1hr
I wanted to edit the title of the thread but didn't find a way to do so ...

yep, in the Prime since day 1 and in my Gen3 for 5+ years ... helps with fuel efficiency and handling though handling is a personal preference and others might feel different about it. Never had any issue with tire wear

I keep my Gen 4 pressure at 39/39 but the max pressure on my Japanese Ecopia tires is 44.

Just scheduled my Prime for its 10,000 mile check, oil, tire rotation for 3-16-18. The date I picked it up one year ago. Not going to have 10,000 on it, maybe not even 9,000, but it says 10,000 or 12 months and it is free.

nothing, service til 25k or 2 years is "free", though I prefer to think that it is "pre-paid" when you buy the vehicle ...
