Remember, it's throttle-by-wire, and the computer doesn't really see any point in revving if the power isn't needed for anything. It will increase rpms moderately if you hold the pedal down some, and even a bit more if you hold it further, just to humor you, more or less.

If you are referring to the solar roof option available on the gen 3, it does NOT charge the 12v and never has. It only runs the fan during daylight to help keep the interior cool (if activated).

I'd like to see the source of where that information was taken from.

I guess this is another example of me assuming what I consider to be normal conditions, but other than grid tied PV I'm not aware of a lot of solar powered systems that don't use some sort of a battery as a storage and transfer medium between the source and the load. And I'm pretty sure the PV panel doesn't charge the HV battery so...are you saying the PV is directly tied to the fan motor with no battery in the circuit at all, or is there another auxiliary battery dedicated to that fan?

Yup, just powers the fan and only if you have the dash switch for it in the on position. In quiet conditions, you can hear the whirr of the fan while standing near the right front A piller/windshield. It activates approx. 10 minutes after turning the car off.

The nissan Leaf has an (optional?) small solar panel specifically for the 12v. RV and boat owners frequently use a similar setup for long term storage. You can find similar dash/windshield setups on ebay/amazon that utilized the cars' 12v power plug to maintain charge on the 12v battery.

Comes from Toyota. When I got my 2014 I researched different options. The solar was one. I figured what a waste to just power fans to exit hot air. Plus you lost the glasses holder on the ceiling console to boot!! But I think car had remote A/C ability too.

Was wondering what code reader you are using? I thought I remember unless specific for the prius type hybrid system codes could be read and or displayed wrong. Techstream or torque pro with PIDs specific usually recommended.
