Could be good or bad. Depending on how long she ran it for, it might not have done enough to keep the HV battery charged up.

What I would do if unsure would be to keep it on the trailer and go 50 miles south to Tampa where @TampaPrius.com has a shop and he can help sort you out;).

    Hope that helps(y).

OK, that's better. You'll need to get up to speed on how a hybrid powertrain performs. Your statement that the engine (ICE) ran for "a few minutes" may mean it's performing to spec. because after the ICE warms up (doesn't take too long in Florida this time of year) it stops till needed again (various reasons).

Letting an older HV battery sit is very bad and I wouldn't be surprised if you get trouble lights (codes) once you replace the 12v and start driving it.

    1. This is a hybrid, the engine will stop after it warms up.

    2. The high voltage battery maybe out of balance after sitting 1 year.

    3. Definitely replace the 12v now so you won't run into problems with it later

Thanks. I’m replacing it in the morning. Praying I do not have to replace the HV pack. Will the gas ⛽️ engine start if the HV pack is completely flat?

It should start, the hv battery won't be completely flat. But be prepared to buy another battery real soon.

If it were my car, I wouldn't start it without charging up the hv battery and balancing it. @fotomoto is selling a charger for half price right now.

Jump on Fotos deal. He's a good guy. It's an outboard hybrid battery charger that will charge the hybrid battery pack to 100% charge.your going to need that anyway unless you plan on buying a new hybrid battery right away which is about $3500. Or a whack a mole repair job on it.

So I put a fresh 12v in today and the car started two times then shut down. Large red triangle and “problem “ flash on the navigation screen.

Would try @TampaPrius.com before dropping money on a drive-by wack-a-mole battery, and then losing your original battery core.

I’m going to call him in the morning. I just bought the car . A lot of opinions on what to do. DIY, mobile service , replace whole pack , replace just bad cells ??? My head is spinning. I don’t want to make the wrong decision.

Best thing to do is sleep it off to clear your mind, then call Todd as he will give you an informed opinion for your situation.

    He'll get you sorted out(y)

We have but the modules in the battery you get even though warrantied for 5 years will not last that long. If you go this route, expect to have some down periods waiting on repairs to the battery.

Call Todd tomorrow before you set anything else up.

He just hooked @jerrymildred up with 2015 modules for his 2007. Probably for close to what Green Bean is charging.

This reconditioned battery only has an 18 month warranty, the other 3.5 years is 'prorated'.

Does this five (5) year warranty include all of the R&R (labor) or only the HV battery?

Will they cover a warranty claim anywhere you happen to be, meaning within their service area?

Couldn't find a physical address for this business, just located in Apex NC 27502.. where would you go if no one was answering your calls?

    edit: spelling
