Mine works fine, no issues and no tinting. I do notice a difference, as I hated flipping the switch on my Gen 3.

The GF's Chevy Bolt has an actual rear view camera view when you flip the switch! Now that is cool!

As I stated in follow-up post, the mirror dimming does work; it's just not sufficient for me and I'd like to be able to adjust it.

Might explain why in Canada, they left out the auto-dimming mirror except on the top spec package. (all models have manual day/night mirror as standard)

You gotta hope the engineers provided some way to program or alter the level of darkening provided by the mirror!!. My very bright flashlight made the mirror nearly "black"; lights from traffic, on the other hand barely had any/enough effect. If that mirror is as expensive as I've heard, it hadda oughta better dad nab have some kinda flippin' adjustability, or "Compliance Control"!!

Yes that's how it's supposed to work (because you're shining a light into the light sensor which dims the mirror). Again, if you can find a way to expose the light sensor such that the headlights behind can reach it better, that will help solve your problem.

Do you think a Gen 4 Prius mirror would fit the Prime? Mine is manually controlled. Perhaps @HPrimeAdvanced could buy the OEM part.

The thing is, that I want to keep the mirror's remote garage door openers feature, while improving the performance of the mirror's dimming feature. Marie Antoinette said I could have it!! Stubborn gets!!

I, unfortunately, believe it is, "had influence", since her "head" has somehow been "misplaced"!
From Little Anthony and the Imperials, "Well I think I'm going out of my head...!" But I digress..., har, har, !!

At times I have noticed significant dimming, and at other times have thought it should dim more. Since driving at night is rare for me, not much effort to improve the situation has been tried. At one time I thought turning the MFD off and dimming the dash lights helped, but a recent experience questions this approach. In my gen 2 Prius turning the mirror upside down improved the dimming. My Prius Plug-in was base model with manual flip.
