Flip the rear seat down? Someone semi-seriously proposed that as a mpg booster once.

The obvious answer is in @bwilson4web 's avatar. I thought everybody here knew that. :ROFLMAO:

The title of your thread reminds me of an old joke where an old farmer had asked a young neighbour to help him out by painting a fence in his yard, and after a while was surprised to find the job nearly complete when he checked to see how the young chap was getting on! When he asked him why he was in such a hurry, he was told "Well, I've used nearly all the paint, and I wanted to finish the job before the paint runs out!!!" :D:D o_Oo_O ;)

In a thread with a lot of spoof answers (as there are no real answers) this one may almost seem sensible.

Do not draft. If every other driver drove responsibly, you could. I have not met many responsible drivers.

The A/C cools the battery. If you care at all about battery life, keep it cool.

Your headlights warn other drivers where you are, they need all the help they can get. Keep them on. (I have to turn mine on every 5000 miles as my mechanic turns them off)

Measure the time difference between attempting to drive fast and attempting to drive safely. It is very small for hundreds of miles, starts to be significant for thousands of miles.

Yep, I agree with everything you wrote. And I wouldn't do any of what I suggested, mostly because if I were to drive faster than the speed limit, then I would also accept the inevitable decrease in mpg. 40+ mpg going 80+mph is still pretty good in my book.

It is an illusion or a joke.
    Look up the "placebo effect".

Let me fix that for you. "Draft ANY semi." They all speed, at least in California, where the speed limit for trucks and vehicles with trailers is 55 mph. Except in the mountain passes. That's when they run two and three wide, taking up every lane of travel.

Get the best rated LRR tires and crank up the pressures to uncomfortable levels and start making aero-mods: taping off front end gaps, plexiglass covers over grill openings, solid wheel covers, fender skirts, remove mirrors, lower car, lengthen front skirt, etc.

    Or just slow down.

    Lower grill block.

Never 100% block if engine load is high such as uphills and or blasting AC. Can be easily remove and reinsert as needed.

Kind of depends on what you mean by "Getting There Quickly".
I loved my Prius for long highway drives. I found I could go safe, sane, tangible and real highway speeds routinely and return phenomenal gas mileage.

Now if you want extended- illegal- sports car like speeds?
The Prius simply is not function built for that type of driving experience.

That's also one of the quickest ways to give it a drinking problem?
