Lane keep assist?

    Yes so was I. To quote the UK manual, page 112: "When the brakes are applied suddenly, the emergency flashers automatically flash to alert the vehicle behind"
    It's called the Emergency Brake Signal.

    Lane Keep Assist was an active system that monitored the white or yellow lane lines to keep the vehicle centred in the lane. This meant that there would've been near-constant movement of the steering wheel (like Tesla's autopilot) as the system made adjustments to keep the Prius centred. If you started drifting towards the edge, it will pull you back but it's not a perfect system and you could end up bouncing within your lane. It can handle light corners but not at 100% of the time.

    In short, it was a more active, aggressive system than LDA w/ SA (Which is a passive system).

    Yeah the Prius does that in Europe at least. I think European-spec cars have had this feature for a while.

    If I had my druthers, for me personally I'd rather have a more active steering lane control, but sorry Toyota, I'm not going to buy a new one in the future just to get that option, even though I'm reasonably sure it could be implemented by new firmware (and yes I know they won't...).

    Have you had to test then out? :eek:

    Our flashers flash at the same rate as turning signals, just both sides at once.

    Fortunately, I never had to test them for real, but ours flash like yours do. Walks away buttoning raincoat....

    You're right again. I think I was referring to the hazard flashers and not the video. As that was a CGI production, I assumed the speeds and timings were not to scale.
