Well, the day wasn't a total loss after all. Having starting below freezing this morning, the afternoon finally got up to 59F this afternoon. After the yard work was done, I got a couple hours to play in the garage before another responsibility called me away. Life gets busy...

Today I fabricated the first two bridge plates for the interior on the floor behind the front seet area. They were primed with weld-thru primer. The area on the car where they attach was sanded clean and the plates set into position.

The next chance I get to go back into the garage, I will weld them into place.

Not much very photogenic this week. Just continuing with the body-to-chassis welds, then applying primer to stop any rust from forming. Ohio has decided to be 87F and humid all of the sudden.

You're bringing the term "Prius Prime" back to its original definition :)

Great to see another weekend update!

The new patch panels for the front floor of the Firebird body under the driver's and passenger's feet arrived today.

I placed one over the rusted-out area on the driver's side to check the fit. They will need a bunch of judicious trimming to go around the Prius V crossmember, but they should do the job just fine. Hoping to get the existing floor prepped tomorrow...

Seems I've hit my media storage limit. I'll post photos when I figure my way around it.

You mean here on Priuschat? @Tideland Prius may have some ideas. I think it was @TonyPSchaefer that recommended you store them here. ;)

    Delete old ones? :p

You may have to ask @Danny for more space ;)

Deleting old ones sort of defeats the documentation part of this project. You are the only one I can recall in recent memory who has been able to reach Danny.

What is the media space limit? I guess I've never hit it yet, but I tend to choose pretty aggressive compression settings for my images before I upload them.

Oh I didn't realise it was documentation.

The other option is to upload them all into a thread instead of into the media section and then linking it from the thread. (I think they're separate file limits)

This thread was created due to photobucket’s drastic policy change. Original thread is here.

The Hybrid Convertible Project Prius v | PriusChat

@TonyPSchaefer suggested storing here and starting a new thread instead of having a moderator fix the old thread links.

Oh, I see that now ... these are links over to the media section, whereas I've only ever uploaded pictures directly to threads (and haven't ever run into a limit, that I remember).

Yeah. Bill has almost 4 years (August 2014) worth of images here, primarily for this project.

This forum is all about sharing knowledge and exchanging ideas. That is exactly what this project is doing, especially of someone else wishes to attempt a similar project.

Biting the bullet and linking to my FB page. A quick Google search ties me by name to the project anyway.

Driver's side forward floor pan installed. It is tented upward in the center to get around the Prius v crossmember. The welds are from the "strong but ugly" school of welding...

    Yes exactly.

Can Bill upload directly to this thread?

Those look like my welds. I've heard them called "gorilla welds." :D

Yes, Eastwood 135 MIG set-up. Making all of my ugly welds where people can't see them (I hope...)
