    Hi all,

I'm headed to the dealership tomorrow to follow up on a quote. Would love to get your thoughts on how competitive it is. I'm in New England.

    MSRP: $29,103
Offer including $2500 Toyota incentive: $24,275

Before you take delivery, ask them to change the Reverse beep to a single beep, from continuous.

Also ask the service manager to change the default for 'cooling while charging' to 'Yes'.

Also, make sure you have them fully charge it for you (along with a full tank of gas).

With current rebate in NE, your quoted price seems to be comparable to last year price on 2017. Of course, there is a chance the rebate may increase as it did last year, but you never know.

Assuming the service manager even knows how. lol;)

For the Reverse beep, although many people seems to HATE that feature, you may want to try it before changing it. For Plus and Premium in absence of other warning sensors when backing up, continuous beep is OK, IMO. I have played with it, changed to a single beef using OBDII app Prius Tweak, but I actually prefer the continuous beep, so changed back to a default. Beeping is there for reason.

And for cooling while charging may never be an issue for location in NE. I have never seen that option appear in my Prime. And didn't even know you could change that default setting until now.

One thing I have learned when buying a new car is to make sure you get everything on the table before you sign on the line.

Dealers don't want to put air in the tires without being paid.:)

Thanks everyone for the quick replies and advice. Ended up going with the dealer's offer and will post in the prices paid thread when I take delivery on Tuesday. The final price was about $5 more than the above once the final taxes and fees were calculated. I also went for something I usually wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole: extended VSA. I just couldn't pass up the final negotiated price (7 year/100k platinum vsa for $995) with all of the electrical cables, sensors, and computers in cars these days. Looking forward to the Prius experinece and these message boards.

Hi KP7, me too in the New England region and researching for a Prius prime (either Premium or Advanced trim). I am using Truecar "benefits at work" program (on my employer's benefits website - basically it is a service from my employer that gets quotes from dealers using the Truecar platform). I got quotes from about 15 dealers in and around greater Boston area and I am in the process of absorbing and collating all the information.
One of the dealers also sent me the quotes for the Plus version (along with the Premium and advanced trims that I had asked) here is the quote for a PLUS trim that I got :
MSRP: 28,528 ( Probably lower than your $29,103 because it doesn't have the add-ons like door edge guards etc)
    Dealer discount on MSRP: 3500
    Toyota cash: 2500
    total guaranteed savings: 6000
Selling price before taxes and dealer fees: 22,528

I am also tracking the inventory levels of about 20 dealers (using their individual websites) to see who is moving their Primes fast. Started this tracking just a week ago. My observations:
1.Dealers who have high inventory are more willing to offer better dealer discounts. The best offer that I got was about $6000 savings from the MSRP . This for the advanced version.
2.The Greater NY are has a Toyota cash incentive of $3500 vs the $2500 in New England region. I am hoping the incentive would go up to $3500 next month in the NE region too.
    3. NE region has got a higher "student / recent graduate rebate" - $1250 vs $750 in the NY region. $500 higher here in NE. So that offsets $500 of the $1000 extra Toyota cash benefit that NY region has got.( I am a recent graduate, so this helps for me)
    4. As of now, Only 3-4 dealers (out of the 15 dealers I am tracking) are offering more than $2700 dealer discounts ( this is in addition to to the $2500 Toyota cash) So for now I have at least 3 dealers offering a minimum of $5200 savings over the MSRP. I am hoping the quantum of discount and and the number of dealers offering higher discounts to go up in November.
    5. 2017 model - very few left in NE area- I was able to find two 2017 advanced trims in the Rhode island area. The quote I got for one was this: MSRP 34679; Selling price 27999.

Do keep us posted on the updates.

Fully agree with Salamander king on this. I am guessing the toyota cash rebate would go to $3500 in November..Some regions had $4500-$5000 for the Prime last year in December. I also expect the dealers to increase their discounts in November.
