Seeing a lot of folks mention Carista on here, which I definitely plan on using for a couple settings (First on the list: reverse beeping OMGWTF). Are there any other dongles/apps that people here have good experience with, or is Carista more or less the way to go here?

The gold standard, tested and approved by Toyota, is Toyota Techstream software (on a PC with Microsoft Windows) with a MongoosePro MFC2 vehicle interface module, especially if you actually plan to do ECU reprogramming, as opposed to diagnosis, or customization of settings like the reverse beep. The Tactrix Openport 2.0, though not officially recognized, is less costly and also works with Techstream.
