Upgrade Prius 2 to add qi wireless charging not working

    I decided to swap out my lower console with one that had a qi wireless charger, however when I turn on the qi wireless charger it flashes green every second and doesn't charge. This indication isn't specified in the manual, has anyone else had a similar issue, do I need to program something into the car to tell it that it has the charger? Any help while be very appreciated.

    there were quite a few problems with the charging depending on phone type. have you looked through the threads?

    A light blinking at 1 Hz suggests a problem with the status signal circuit.

    To avoid radio frequency interference between the wireless charger and the smart key system (as noted in a previous thread), the charger is designed to be controlled by the smart key ECU (certification ECU), so charging can be inhibited while the smart key system is searching for a key inside the car. In the Repair Manual (more info), see Vehicle Interior: Power Outlets (Int): Wireless Charging System: Status Signal Circuit.

    Perhaps the Prius Two lacks the wiring for this circuit or some part of it, the required support in the certification ECU, or both. The parts catalog lists two different versions of the smart key ECU for U.S. models, but the 89990-47210 version found on the Prius Two is also used on some models built for sale in Europe and the GCC countries, some of which can have the wireless charger, so it could just be a wiring problem.

    Was your car built with connector F90 for the wireless charger, and if so, was there a blue wire for terminal 7 (DIS), not to be confused with the sky blue wire for terminal 5 (ACC power)? If so, is the voltage at terminal 7 as described in the Repair Manual, i.e., 4.5 to 6.0 V, relative to body ground, “For 5 seconds after turning power switch from off to on (ACC),” so the charger can verify the circuit, and below 1 V to body ground thereafter? Be careful when checking; you may need to back-probe the connector from the wire side, to avoid permanently deforming the terminal by inserting a meter probe.

    If you have the blue wire at F90-7 but expected voltage isn’t present, check whether the blue wire between MF2-46 and M59-7, continuing the circuit to the smart key ECU, is present in the instrument panel wire harness. (See the Electrical Wiring Diagram for details.)
