At least there wasn’t smoke coming out of your ears cause you thought about it too hard:p.

I’ll take the grooved softballs from time to time too(y).

I had a leak from a disconnected AC hose. It took about 2 weeks to find out what the source of the smell was when I noticed something placed on the rear floor was damp. The carpet has a platicized backing so it holds back a lot of the water from seeping through.

I took out all the flooring, cleaned with hose, detergent, and scrub brush and then disinfected the carpet and padding with a fungicidal disinfectant. Wiped down the metal car floor as well.

I would be careful with chlorine and ozone based products as they can discolor vinyl. There is a hydroxyl generator that you may be able to rent that does not discolor but takes a day longer to treat in a closed environment like your car. I would place the carpet a pad back in the car and flip them around after a day with 2 day treatment. Still should wash and dry them first. 20190206_114109.jpeg
