A great perplexing electrical drain challenge .

Good catch. I forgot that part.

 

95,000 miles give or take a couple hundred. The car charged up to 3/4 and has stayed there. It took about 20 min of driving and it charged right up after I had her shut off and restart. It sat all night and did not lose a bar. Any thoughts?

Two comments:
He has done pretty good so far......with a little help from us.......but going much farther might not be possible (or practical).

My only guess at this point is:
Something like a 3rd party security system has been added and the power wires to it have been purposely hard to locate.

 

may have been a fluke. stop and go will bring it down to two bars. the triangle might have been set a out of parameters low module because it is an old battery.

it might be worth reading the codes though.

 

This was a response I wrote in another thread, thought it may apply here also.....

One item that can cause a drain on the 12v battery while the car is off, is the (B18) Brake Control Power Supply. This is the black box located just to the driverside of the 12v battery. This box has 28 capacitors which store energy as a backup for the brake system in case there is a loss of main power. Failures in this box can result in an abnormal drain and kill the 12v battery relatively quickly when the car is off. The BCPS is powered directly from the 15 amp ABS MAIN 3 fuse located in the engine compartment fuse compartment.

Also just noticed that the BCPS provides power to the driver Door Courtesy switch.
