2009 Prius won’t start (You guys have probably seen this 100 times).

    2009 Toyota Prius, would not start. Took it to the dealership and they diagnosed it as having a bad hybrid battery. Had it towed home since I figure I can do that one myself and installed a new Dorman battery. Still will not start, everything lights up including almost every single warning light. Makes a click in the back when I Attempt to start it. Will go into neutral but will not go into drive or reverse. Any help? I’m stumped.

    Not sure if you have a return policy on that Dorman, or if you've already turned in the old HV battery for the core charge.

    Have you checked the orange safety plug for proper installation?

    Most likely the vehicle is throwing some DTCs (codes) and you have lights on the dash, please read the OBD2 codes and post them here.

    Push the big red disconnect DOWN. I've had this same issue. Replaced my own battery, put the big disconnect back in and got everything but no start and a red triangle. The big disconnect switch has a small connector on the bottom that tells the computer it is in place. After you close it you have to push it DOWN about half an inch for that indicator to connect. Hope this helps.

    It's very uncommon for a car not to start from a hybrid battery failure. There is usually plenty of juice in a failed battery to start the car.

    A more common issue would be a shorted inverter pump. But a dealer would know by checking the codes. Did you pay then to diagnose the car or did someone guess at it?
