LED bulb price has come down so much in recent years, I just picked up 60W incandescent equivalent LED bulbs for $0.29 each at a local store. I remember 4-5 years ago, I spent close to $15 a bulb for that. Most of the lightings at my home were with compact fluorescent bulbs already but LED this cheap, I changed most of them.

Take a look at the specs on those bulbs - specs generally vary with the price. If they don't list the CRI, it isn't a good CRI.

I am pretty sure they were low spec cheap ones made in China. But to be honest, I really don't care to know what CRI they are. If the lights are bright enough and I can see what I need to see at night that's all matters for me. ;)

    • 50% on the front windows
    • 80% on the windshield (gives 43% heat rejection)

After the meet up, @The Critic and I went to his shop for additional work:).

Got the Prime up on the lift, some shots from below;):

The lift point is ~45 inches in:cool::

    91ED47BA-032A-49B8-8906-737E3756A7E0.jpeg

Which means I might have to side lift first :(.

The splash shield is interesting too in the way it is molded and fit together, another DIY joy:rolleyes:.

    Shot with the shield off:

At least the oil change door has screws;):
    F6C812C1-E432-4D7D-9031-6B1448DAAB3F.jpeg

Did a trans drain and fill (only at 4K miles, but I wanted to do this early like I did on the RX450h):

When you look at the trans axle though, only one drain plug, so where’s the inverter coolant drain:whistle::

    700D256C-2939-43FF-BC61-5A3BF1EBB813.jpeg

Apparently the lower drain is the inverter coolant loop.

Also did an oil change as well. The canister appeared to be over torqued and led to this:

    E4F9D54C-253C-44F8-BEEE-1167AC502EF9.jpeg B865F0CE-B9D6-4159-A90B-2FC685E27DA2.jpeg 8905856A-D048-49C2-9C72-18082CFDAC48.jpeg

Let’s just say that the new one was put on correctly;).

Great to have a lift for the evening(y).

I changed my oil the other day. That's when I discovered that my floor jack will not fit under the car far enough in to reach the front center left point.

Having the screws for the oil door was very handy. I didn't take off the whole shield. Saving that for when I do the transaxle. I had to change the oil inside our itty bitty garage and there isn't enough elbow room to change your mind when the car's in there. One of these weekends, though, it won't rain and I can work out in the driveway. I suppose I should get on the ball and get the ATF and washers so I'm ready.

So how’d you access the oil change door:whistle:?

I know I’d need to lift it up as it is low to the ground otherwise, but this is how easy it can be:

@The Critic had a great device that I’ve got in my Amazon cart: a slotted metal jack pad:).

Stays on the pinch weld and will allow my usual jack to do its job(y).

There are large bolts that connect to the front suspension that I used for the floor jack. Here's a picture that I think @Mendel Leisk provided that's from a Gen 3 that should give you an idea. They are the spots used by the lift in the picture at the right side (front). Gen 4 is similar.
    Gen 3 jack stand placement.png

Then I put the jack stands on the pinch welds meant for the scissors jack. I've never had any issues using those with jack stands at those points since our first Prius oil change in 2014 or '15. But those adaptors @The Critic has sound nice. Do you have the link? If not, I can probably find them.

Thanks. Those are nice! What I normally do is use the jack elsewhere and put the stands under the pinch points. I keep telling myself that I should just fab my own adapters but never seem to get around to it.

Edit to add. You guys inspired me to go ahead get some jack stand adapters. Just ordered them. For $20, why make 'em?

The slotted pad in the pic is really nice. I like it is magnetic. I use heavy duty rubber type jack stand pads, but they don't stay on the jack stand after raising the car up to remove it. It gets stuck on the car. I can't remember how much I paid for a set of 4, but I know it did not cost me $14.99/piece. Is yours $20 for a set of 4 or single piece? Are hockey packs cheaper?

Yes, that was $20 for a set of four. I'll find out when I change the transaxle fluid how well they work and how fussy it is to get the pinch welds to drop into the slots on the adapters as I lower the car onto the stands. It shouldn't be a problem. Here's the link, by the way.
