I find the charging scheduling system that come with the prime is not great. I was wondering if anyone knows of a smart plug i could use to charge the prime. I tried one and it blew out and stopped working. Are there any high voltage/ amp smart plugs.

I would like to control from my phone because I am worried of blowing out my wall socket so I unplug it when I'm not using it and it's very inconvenient unplugging it and plugging it back it at the wall.

    Any solutions

Won't the Toyota entune app meet your needs?

That's only for the advanced model, he has a plus. I wish I had it for my premium. :(

I use a TP-link Kasa one which is capable for 15A.

This may work. It also has an app.

No Entune in Canada for the 2017-2019 Prime.

It bugs me that I can’t control my charger either via an app.

Maybe the simple solution is to use a dedicated 120v 20amp circuit per the car's requirements. If the circuit you are using has other draws, try to unplug them or simply change your Prime to the 8amp charge setting so as to not cause a problem with the breaker or your outlet.

Near as I can tell there is no way to set a charging schedule with Entune. I can check the state of charge and time estimate until fully charged. I can set the temp and front/rear window defrosters. That's all folks.

Page 122 of the manual states:
    ● Connect to an AC 120 V outlet (NEMA 5-15R) with a Ground-Fault Circuit-Interrupter (GFCI) and a circuit breaker. Use of a 15A individual circuit is strongly recommended to ensure charging cable will operate properly.

Make sure you don't have other demands on this dedicated circuit. I have found if this cannot be done for lots of other reasons, lowering the Prime car charger (in settings) to 8amps works just fine. We charge overnight and sometime "charge now", but do not have an issue.

Actually you can adjust the schedule from the app. You have to click this tiny button:

Then this screen appears where you can change the schedule:
