Awesome tracking Max! TY for sharing and keeping us posted on how the new solenoid is working out. Sounds like you got approx 61mpg on that trip overall...give or take. That's still great for highway mpg!! Correct me if i'm wrong on my calculations and approximations. Great job!

I'm at a truck stop. I sorted out my vibration problem at a tire shop in Tainan, after that i drove a bit in the city. Very friendly mechanic working on a Sunday afternoon. Charged me near to nothing balancing all 4 wheels. I 1st thought I hit a pot hole or picked up something and hit the under carriage on the highway but from the examinations we might have a spring that was in the wrong position slip into place, after all my top mounts were replaced on Wednesday last week.
So he took off all the wheel weights and rebalance everything, Amazing!
I got on the road in Tainan and soon later straight on the ICE for the past 3 hours. Bladder can only hold so much since I'm hydrating a lot after my suffering IPSC match in mud.

I had to take a break. Here is the fuel frenzy so far this leg.
    20190421_215223.jpg
Not vey good average speed given that a few were in heavy congested Tainan city traffic and i lost all my charge at a point. Lots of heavy throttle too to keep up with highway traffic once it was speeding up. but average highway speed close to 80km/h i would say 15min was in the city.
I know you all want to see the image of pruistexasbob photo of the info page on my run this trip. And here it is.
For those who don't believe the seloniod efficiency... I don't know what else to say.
787.3km and only 17% EV mode.

I am going to try get home on my last 2 bars of gas. I estimated roughly 90km range per bar. I've been on this last second bar for nearly 80km. Trip computer doesn't account the last bar for range. I have 70km to go to get home. From my calculations I should have another 10(21km computer estimate)+ 90per bar which is going to be the flasher fumes bar=100km rough range left. I don't think ill be able to get more then 930km out of this tank since its nearly all highway but if i were to do a tank only in the city with the help of the EM I think its totally doable 35l x 30km/l. I can push it to 900km this round i think. I'll gas up as soon as I get home and will update on this amazing journey.

    I made it!
This 1st was when i got to the fumes bar@ 806km
    20190421_224910.jpg
As I'm only putting on snap shots sometimes the camera will catch the fumes bar light up and sometimes it will be dark. Please follow the clock and the km in distance traveled. Unless i have a trickle gas pump set up in the boot, then i will not have time to get off the highway put gas in then make up for that 10km within that short time.
30km on reserve @830km 20190421_230519.jpg 40km on reserve @ 840km notice how ev went down to 16% i was pretty confident at this point i still had plenty of range left. 20190421_231140.jpg 58km on reserve @ 858.2km arrived at gas station. Needed to go to washroom ASAP. 20190421_232650.jpg last leg efficiency average speed 83km/h with 27.1km/l. There were hills and city driving before i was able to get to gas station. Majority highway otherwise I would have been pulled over already with that average speed with it being in the city too much. ( Taipei 50km/h speed limit) 20190421_232702.jpg lastly how much i put into the tank. Still had 2.5l in there. I slow fuel it at the end so the gas had a chance to flow evenly into all the cavity. 20190421_233230.jpg and the receipt to prove it. Bottom left Chinese 95 octane
    20190421_233307.jpg Good night! I'm done!

Fantastic documenting Max for all of us to study. Nice of you to record it all in picts!
In light of the pictures I sent you of my existing vvt-i, if you feel my car would still be compatible for the new solenoid then put me in the drawing for a shot at the free one.

My goal for this tank is to go for 30km/l overall. Right now going around lower 30s so if i keep it up will be double. Fingers crossed! 20190424_172701.jpg 20190424_092536.jpg

20190425_094959.jpg New update April 25th Thursday
Still going strong! I will try to hit the 30km/l mark for the entire tank. The cycle run photos are showing me it is doable. Here> 20190425_095009.jpg
I just need to drive more.
I'm going to try and figure out how to change my interface into English. I apologize thinking everybody can read Mandarin.

I reset my trip odometer and my fuel consumption gauge everytime I gas up to keep Good Records of progress. Note! I do not reset it unless I gas up, so rest assured that the test is to be totally accurate. Please follow that mileage increase to know where I am at and monitor the progress.

I do believe hitting 30 average per tank is going to be challenging but I do believe I will be very close. I also believe the mileage I will be able to do on one tank will also reflect the fuel efficiency accurately.
Still looking to hear from PriusChat administrators. Please feel free to contact me.

Very cool Max! Keep on keeping us posted (y)
If 30-32km/l (US 70-75mpg) turns out to be the new consistent daily average due to the bullet, that's just incredible. (y)

    I just popped the cherry!
I was nursing it a little bit but the slow going traffic was for sure the kicker. I had a few disruptions on my glide pattern but was still able to get this which I'm happy about.
9km in nearly half an hour is slow going. 20190425_135431.jpg

    Hi members!

As you know I'm running the Red Bullet and trying for the 900km on one tank of gas within city driving situations.
    Here is a update:
    20190508_175824.jpg
My average has gone down a bit by doing really short trips. But at this stage I'm still confident I'll be able to run on and reach the 900km mark.

27.5 and above would be a comfortable average that I'll try and aim for since I'll be doing a minimum of 10km+ trips twice a day from now on.
I will keep everyone posted and start a "Guess the gas" contest for a chance to win a Red Bullet. People who already received one could still participate and share the link, but I do hope to get another lucky member on the Red Bullet.
When I do hit 900km within a few days from now I'll fill up the tank.
The pump has a accuracy of 0.01 liter. A full tank of gas is 35l, if you could guess the closest to or the actual amount of fuel going in until auto stop filling then you will be getting a Red Bullet through the mail.
This will be the last Red Bullet I'll be able to give away to members of PriusChat, so please take advantage of it.
Future ones will be available online for sale and also at your local auto parts shop. For more information regarding the Red Bullet, please check out the discussion on Prius C upgrades and modifications. Here> Red bullet VVTI seloniod | Page 8 | PriusChat

Note! Not only owners of Prius C can participate, I have Red Bullet that will fit Prius Gen 3 and all its Lexus variants.
Good luck and I look forwards to seeing you all on the "Guess the gas" contest page.

Notate the exact KM that your last bar starts flashing and your KM to Empty hits 0.
Toyota reserve is somewhere around ~5.6L after 0.

Good to know. I'll think about that when I'm on the fumes bar. Thanks for the reminder. Its going to help my mental health when we get to the lowdown.

Got my best tank of gas mpg yesterday, 528.3 miles on 8.8 gallons, or 60.1 mpg. All city driving, lasted 4 weeks. Mostly commuting stop and go traffic, warmer weather, no AC or heat needed.

Fantastic Brad...hope the mpg keeps climbing for u.
On 5/27, I did 51 miles after i filled the tank, ECO off, Red Bullet installed (see Max Taiwan and Red Bullet chat thread), all side roads with a good amount of heavy hills to climb and some wet grounds. My mpg on the ECO screen was 71.3 when ending the run. I peaked at 72.4mpg at one point during my trip.

I doubt I will ever do much better on a single tank. It was hard to beat my old record of 58.98 set July 2017. I dont usually drive it in the city alone and highway speeds are impossible to get above the low 50s, and once at 80 mph drops into the low 40s usually. I have had 6 of 218 fillups better than 58 mpg but lifetime average is still below 52 mpg, since most of my miles are highway.

I feel ya Brad...it's a frustration a bit when you can't get back to a 58mpg on a somewhat consistent basis. I don't know if you know about it, but there's an extensive thread going on about the Red Bullet put out by PriusChat member Max Taiwan. It's been a game changer so far with getting better mpg and some extra power across the board. You may want to look into the chat threads and decide for yourself if you want to purchase and install one. Max is very friendly and more than willing to help anyone with questions about it before purchasing. Hope that helps.
(ps...if it makes you feel any better...my 71.3mpg didn't last long as now I'm back down to a 67.5mpg, 4 days after I hit the 71.3mpg. It's an ebb and flow it seems, but I'm much happier staying in the high 60's than where I was prior to the Red Bullet installation).
