    Yeah.. Same as on my last recall dealer said, "NO CODE, NO CHECK" They don't get paid by Toyota and No Free lunch

    I think the same thing has happened with mine. No problem for over 100K miles, seven years. Had the software update done (while I had it in to change all the fluids at the 105-110 K checkup), and a few weeks later, when I turned on the car at lunchtime, it went into limp mode. Turned it off, then a few hours later turned it on, (no limp mode), drove to nearby AutoZone, where they checked the 12 V battery. They said it was fine, but that the car wasn't charging it. I read up, and I bet it's the inverter. Local dealer looked it up, says that they need to check to see if it threw a particular error code, and that if it did, Toyota will replace the inverter for free.

    What kind of warranty did the dealer say it was covered under?
