Looking for advice- dead 12v battery-

    Well I got the pricier OEM Toyota battery in the end... charged it up and installed seamlessly, thanks to some good Youtube videos.
    Thanks all for the advice and help, I've never done this before, and without the support I might have done what my dealer suggested: "Get it towed to us." Yikes.

    I see that the Motomaster one listed above is also vented, so it might have been fine. But I saved on towing and mechanics charges for doing something that was really pretty straightforward.

    There are many how-to videos on YouTube. It’s easy if you have some metric wrenches and 15 minutes. I’ve done it three times.

    Seven years is a long time on a 12-volt. Mine lasted five each, almost to the month. New Toyota 12V were guaranteed for seven, so you got a fair deal.

    Don’t leave anything on! AGM batteries die soon after they are fully discharged. If you park the car for a week, turn off the Smart Key System if you have one.

    Where DOES some of this stuff come from ??
    Fact: An AGM battery is much LESS likely to suffer permanent damage from sitting fully discharged.
    Second fact: A healthy 12 V battery should last a lot longer than a week with NO special considerations.
    Might want to start thinking about it for a month or more.

    There’s 4 tires per car so it would make sense that tires on the road out numbers the number of dealerships.
