I'm the 3rd owner of a 2008 Touring. The middle plastic-protector that is under the motor is only zip-tied in place(not my doing). I'm getting ready to drive half-way across the country, and was looking to replace it. Since it is held in place with zip ties, I don't have any idea what the correct bolt/screw should be for the new cover. Does anyone know? Thanks.

I had our 2010’s undercover zip tied for over 150k miles;).

The rear plastic clip was a bear and wouldn’t come out:cool:.

So 3 zip ties linked together kept it in place for a long time:).

I’d just let it be as it is staying in place now and worry about other trip preparations(y).

Pretty cool that you even still have a cover... I've yet to be under any Prius that still has the cover you have to remove to change the oil.

If it has screw threads, it will be a M6x1.0 bolt with a 10mm hex head.

If it is a plastic push on rivet, it will most likely be 7mm.

Thank you. I'm going to run to my closest auto parts and give those a try.

I didn't say what condition it is in(terrible). The holes have mostly pulled through and there's a lot of road rash on it. I'm going to be driving 1500 miles in the next couple of days, and I want something under the motor to deflect.

Go to the hardware store to get some "fender washers," to fit where the holes have been enlarged.
