I tested it after work, it sat about 5 hours. Read 11.98 from the terminal. I took it to AutoZone without high hopes, and got exactly what I expected. It tested bad. It looks like it might be under warranty from the dealer, so I'm going to go in tomorrow and inquire.
On a side note, that battery is a pain in the nice person to get in and out.

It says "84 month warranty" on the side and "040916W" on the top

The manufacture date is 4 Sep 2016, so some pro-rated warranty left.

I hope he reports back with what the warranty did for him.
This likely will be a good example of how "pro rated" warranties work......or don't.

It's 33 degrees outside this morning in the tundra. Perfect weather for checking battery voltage. The battery in my work car measured at 12.22 volts. It was last driven yesterday evening. I have another car that has sat since Wednesday, three days, and it's battery is at 11.88 volts. My wife drove her Prius this morning before I got around to checking voltage. After sitting for about a hour it's battery was at 12.12 volts.

It would be great if more members would go measure the resting voltage of their 12 volt batteries and post the results.

In the Coast Range of Oregon, overnight temperature 41, daytime highs around 54 about the beginning of October, I tested my direct from the dealer, purchased in January 2014, TrueStart battery manufactured by YUASA and it was at 12.3V after sitting overnight.

I tested with my Klein digital Multi-tester at the jump point under the front hood.

Decided to keep it around for at least another winter. Don't have a lot of spare cash, I am still restricted a fair amount with movement of arm and bending, plus, I am optimistic it should last at least one, maybe two more years.

My wife drove ours yesterday, maybe 10 kms total. Checked this morning (at the under hood jump point, had to open door to pop it), current temp 6/42 C/F: 12.84 volts.

It's an Optima Yellow Top, put in 4 years back as of September.

Full disclosure: I'm a battery hypochondriac; our battery spends pretty much every idle day hooked up to a CTEK 4.3 charger. Our use of the car is sporadic, it'll regularly sit at least one day, sometimes 3 or 4. It had not been on the charger for a few days though, when I took the measurement this morning.

Yeah I'm a believer. If you're trying to get consistant conditions for measuring, I found too, that act of opening the door to pop the hood does knock about 1/10 of a volt off.

    Your Dakota battery is unreal!

That's the key. Our garage queen 2010 Prius is almost constantly on a charger.
