How can I stop my Prius from always starting in EV mode? It's nice in all, but at times I wish the car would start up in hybird mode
did I over look an option? I couldn't find a solution anywhere

There is a HV/EV button if I'm correct.

You need to remember to do it manually. There is no setting to have it always start in HV mode.
I suppose you could let the traction battery run down. Dealers seem to have that perfected before test drives. :(

No automatic way of doing this. You just have to make habit of hitting HV/EV button right after you push the START button. I do this every winter morning, so I don't use traction battery for heating my car.

I was hoping that was not the case.

I wonder if carista has an option to always start the car in hybird mode

Don't think so. At least currently no such option listed.

Yeah, there are few items listed on Carista web site specifically under PRIME customization that seem not to apply.

I can see how it might be nice to start in HV in certain situations. But the car is designed with low emissions being the primary objective. Hence there is no option to change that even with Techstream.

The trunk one should work (I believe that is customisable)

Oh, does it means unlock the trunk with the fob? I thought it meant power lift to open the trunk with the dedicated key on the fob, which PRIME does not have.

I assumed it was the SKS unlock in the trunk

Hummm, I looked up the manual. It seems SKS can be configured to open just driver door or all three. I wonder with Carista, you can selectively disable just trunk from SKS or change the way to open it to Double click or Long press instead of default single press to open all three doors? Carista list has no mentioning of other doors (Driver's and Front Passenger Doors) being customizable.

    From Carista:
Open trunk via smart access button
Disabled / Double click / Long press

Ok now I'm not sure lol.

I've done both - press and hold and double press on the rear hatch to open so both methods work as far as I know.

I bought Carista recently, but have not installed the app yet. When I do, I have 30 days to play with it. Maybe when the weather is better, like next spring, I will let you know the answer.;)

I have not changed any of SKS setting myself since. I have to try it later, but IIRC, it came with single click to unlock all three doors. I almost never use the fob button to open the door or trunk. So it guess it really does not matter to me double or long press.

Just to clarify, I'm using the SKS button on the hatch itself to release it (double tap or long press). I almost never touch the fob either (except for remote A/C... we don't have Entune here).

I left mine with the default driver's door but shortened the interval from 2.5 secs to 1.5 secs on the "linger" to open all doors. (i.e. I grab the driver's door handle to unlock the driver's door and continue to hold for an additional 1.5 secs before the car will unlock all doors)

Oh, I thought double click or long-press on the fob. On the hatch button, I don't remember ever doing dobule click, so it must be a long-press, but it may be a single press. I don't remember. I don't lock my car that often.

My charging cable is in the trunk so I open and close the hatch at least twice a day.

That's to turn off auto High beam when car is below 25MPH. It's assumed that you are driving through residential area and shouldn't need to shine high beam through people's windows.
If you see your auto high beam turns off when you slow down at a turn, that's what this is.
