Walmart rotates tires for free(if purchased from them) at every 5000miles. I could do it in my garage but I will try them first. They will also give me free balancing.

It changed about late 2009, about six months after the Gen3 began selling in North America.

Look at the calendar (sometime mid-April and mid-October), and try to ignore the ridiculously low miles.

What’s the km count on the garage queen:whistle:?

I’m already over 16k miles on our Prime we bought in April:cool:.

It would’ve had 1k more, but the wife wanted to take the RX on our southern trip this year:).

The cooled seats were a welcomed change to that 6 hour drive(y).

Wow. I really didn't know that. Yes then, they definitely changed something (in a good way).
Mine is 2010 but it is manufactured in August of 2009 and it does say "Oil Maintenance Required"

I have a friend with 2010. I will check his and see what his message says and will check the production date of his Prius.

My Prius date is June 2009.
I believe it just says Maintenance Required. I don't remember seeing the oil.
I will check it in about 3500 miles....

Referring to car’s manual is not an option?

I change at roughly 8500 miles. Typically that's about half trips of over 200 miles one-way, and most of the remainder trips of 10-30 miles one-way. I avoid shorter trips by using a bike for those.

A good alternate plan would every time it burns as much fuel as it would burn in 10,000 miles under near-ideal conditions.

I usually use Pennzoil Platinum (synthetic) 5W-20. Only the specified 4.4 quarts which is not enough to reach the full mark on the dipstick, checking cold.
