Hi guys, although I have plenty of experience with bras I have none with putting them on my new Prime Limited. I thought I read in Toyota’s literature that they did not recommend putting anything on the front of the car. (Has something to do with interfering with the radar or other sensors). If any of you have experience dealing with these bras, either good or bad, I’d like to know before I get in over my head. Thanks for your comments. Please tap on my icon and follow me if you like.

    Thanks ❤️ Randi.

I had the LeBra on our old 2010 and it worked fine without damaging the paint :):

EGR Evangelist’s car receives a light clean-up and Optimum Gloss-Coat

I thought there were better pics of the hood there, but with the LeBra removed, it was still fine and the paint looked great;).

On our 2019 Prime I opted for clear protective paint film, STEK:

What did you do to your Prime today?

Side benefit is the emblems on the side panels are removed for the application:).

You can check the websites and see what they say about the cutouts for the sensors, but if you go the clear film route, problem solved.

    Hope that helps(y).

    +1

    This is 2020.

    Really.
    It's OK to go braless.
Even if not everyone else appreciates the.....er....."beauty" of your 'front side.'

Take off the bra and roll the film.

How about a clear bra (I.e., the clear plastic film) like what I've got on my car?

When I purchased my 2020 prime in Aug 2, 2019 I had the dealer install a 3M bra. $1200.00 installed. Does not affect the collision avoident system. No dings yet but a small chip in the windshield. My car is Titanium glow !
Our winter driving can be awful. Lots off sand or more like pea gravel!

I have looked at what it costs to install a clear bra and $1200. is kind of in the middle, so it is not as expensive as I initially thought. I am wondering if it is really a cost-effective add on though. After three years I have no chips on my hood, but if I did, I think if I went to the dealer and bought a small touch up pen to take care of it for maybe $10., I would be more comfortable. When I finally sell my car, will it be worth more with the 3M bra?

It depends on your winters. Here in Grand Forks , British Columbia on the boarder of Washington near the start of highway 395 our winter drives can be hasty. Mountain passes west and east so the 3M is worth installing. I had a regular Le-bra on 2014 PRIUS but did not want too try it on the prime. Toyota did not recommend it!

Yeah I have the Paint Protection Film on my Prime. Came with the car from the factory and I was hesitent, but turned out very desireable. Bugs come right off plus you don’t worry about rocks, chips, or salt. Even road tar comes off with relative ease and you don’t have worry about using a little extra elbow grease. Wife is jealous she didn’t get it with her NXh.

In Canada it is more! $485 probably does not include installation?

It depends on which one you get. The "custom" LeBra for the gen 4 Prius works fine so long as you follow the installation instructions and leave the radar aperture (behind the Toyota emblem) exposed by cutting away the mesh fabric/net (see photos). The proximity sensor aperture cutouts (smaller 1 inch holes in the bra) may or may not also need to be exposed. I left the proximity sensors on my Prius covered and experienced no noticeable degradation of sensor performance.

With regard to the use of the LeBra cover itself, the instructions emphasize that the product should not be left installed on the vehicle for extended periods, and should be removed immediately if the cover gets wet. Otherwise, mold will form in the bra liner and will mar the vehicle paint surface.

In the end, you may want to reconsider using a car bra, since they require you to remove frequently. It usually takes 5 - 10 minutes once you figure out how do do it (it takes some practice).

I only use mine when I go on long trips to help reduce paint damage due to road debris.

Yes, it does. Go to the Toyota website and build your Toyota to see. I had mine installed at the dealership by a subcontractor they use when I purchased the car.

I thought it would be a perfect solution to protect acrylic "glass-jaw" front grill sub-assembly on PRIME. The price is just right. Then, your comment about needing to remove after it gets wet. ... Nah...it's not going to work.

That's pretty much what I decided. It's aesthetically pleasing too, but it not worth the effort for daily use. I keep mine handy for the occasional road trip and show and tell.
