Loud thudding sound at idle

    Alright pulled the plugs

    These things are shot like really bad

    Looks like part of the plug at the bottom broke off

    Should I try to suck out any debris with a vaccine through the plug well?

    yes, or remove the head if you can't get it out. or maybe not. a closer look at the pic doesn't look like anything fell off but burned off.

    Looks like a clean crack from this angle, but that image is deceiving.

    You could save some time with a cheap borescope, some are under $20.

    I don't have a borescope yet. Oddly enough, I've never needed one. But if I pulled out a spark plug that looked like that, I'd be out buying a borescope right away. It may be that the broken off ceramic has already been beat to dust and done all the cylinder wall damage it's going to do, but I would want to be sure before running it again.

    Here is a picture of inside via a bit scope

    Definitely something in there

    Tried to get a chop stick in there to see if it was loose or embedded

    Definitely not embedded


    Perhaps some grease on the end of a chopstick to fish it out?

    That piece doesn't look that big. Would give the old greasy stick trick a shot, wonder if vaseline is sticky enough.

    Might try hooking up a smaller diameter plastic/rubber hose or a larger diameter straw (with an angle cut tip) to a vacuum.

    They offer straws in metal, glass, silicon, plastic, and bamboo. If using the metal variety you could fish it out with a magnet if needed.

    Some can be quite long, others end around 8.5".

    They make mini / micro vacuum attachments, which could be an option as well if not to large in diameter.

    Alright sucked out the broken piece with a vacuum and piece of fuel line

    Changed plugs and coils


    Works awesome


    Thanks for the help!

    Would anyone recommend a brand of coils for the future? I got these off Amazon in a pinch because oem coils at auto zone were like 95 each

    Any solid offerings that'll work well long term in the future?

    Glad you got it fixed. If I want to replace a part once and be done then it's OEM or Denso (which makes alot of parts for OEM).
