    Well, the ones I like aren't available in this exact size, so I chose the next closest one (which is very close):

    They do if the point is give ground clearance for a battery pack.

    Tires on US Camry hybrids range from P205/65R16 to P235/40R190. Maintaining the same width isn't a must, and the narrower tire with smaller wheel would also improve the efficiency for the BEV too. The only technical limitation I can think of is the tires for the smaller rims not having a high enough load rating for a long range BEV.

    Now with the high torque of BEVs, and tires just starting to come out that can handle that without premature wear, tires will likely be a pricier item for a BEV in the near future either way.

    No but I assume the XLEs are heavier than the LEs so they probably benefit from the wider tyres. (And it's always been the case but I believe this is the largest they've had the gap between the width of the base model and the top model).

    That said, Ford went with 225 width tyres for the Mach-E while VW went with 235 fronts, 255 rears.
