Maybe related to all that’s been done, something not connected? It’s a bit of coincidence to have it crop up right on the heels of head gasket replacement.

Right. Shop I took it to is willing to look at replacing basically everything but the transaxle free of charge. As in they want to replace AC and inverter (again) hoping that's a solution. cause the code came up while they were working with it and not before. But yeah, they don't wanna eat the transaxle. Toyota dealership guy has been silent all day. Been trying to get ahold of him.

They are looking for a high voltage leakage fault. A fault they probably caused when they were disconnecting cables.

So, took it to the Toyota dealership and they are pegging the AC compressor, which is odd, but ok. The code (I thought) pointed to potentially the transaxle. (P0AA6, subcodes 562 and 613) The Hybrid shop I took it to had replaced the AC compressor as part of trying to solve the problem and it didn't take. AC works, Toyota service guy says don't use it till its fixed. Says it'll be 3k to fix, and that I should try to talk to toyota about a goodwill service to get the price down.

Hybrid shop says the dealership has it wrong... so basically each set of experts is pointing the finger the other way. x_o but this happened at the hybrid shop, while I was getting preventative care. I would think the Toyota dealership would've let me know of the sorry state of my hybrid system when they fulfilled the IPM warranty. (maybe that is a bit of wishful thinking)

This could be from when the hybrid shop were swapping the engine? changing connections from the engine to the hybrid system? I'm unclear on if they would even need to touch any of this as part of swapping the engine.

Or is it more likely the dealership messed it up when they swapped the IPM?

How is your engine now? Everything good with the new head gasket?

Are you thinking what I am thinking? 2017 should have tournament style EGR passages... so HG blowing between Cylinders 3+4 instead of 1+2?

Do you have any idea how much they charge for a head gasket replacement in a 2014 Prius 4?

Call them. Fun fact - you get better recommendations if you include info like you just bought it and the seller already changed the hg AND you include your location in Cali.
