The one I shared is les than $9 and I have purchased and installed one on my 2004 and everything works, no one issues. I bought two, just in case, and I have a 2007.

I took the gamble and it paid handsomely.

How long ago did you install it?
And do you have a reference of how to access it by taking off the airbag and anything else thats in the way?

Did it as well, thanks for sharing!!
Mine does work well, all the cruise control and dehumidifier buttons have come back to life.
Even if it only lasts a year.. $10 a year for who knows how many years I'll keep the car, most likely 5+. vs. $220 OEM, at this rate i have 22 years before I equal the cost. oh yea and 30min of labor TOPS with that video.

One thing I will add, is that you need to transfer one small sensor bracket when you take of the spiral spring assy, relatively easy to do, just a few tabs on both sides and your good to go.
Last thing is to make sure your steering wheel is centered with the arrow on the spring assy pointing down and in the window the orange window is showing to confirm you are centered.
When I did disconect the battery as shown and reconnected the battery at the end, the panel did show me the 2nd row of orange indicators all stayed lit and did not let me change out of park(only to neutral). But after letting it rest maybe 10mins, when I turned the car back on, it passed the self test and was back to normal.

    Good luck gentleman!

You don't need to wait 10 min, when you get the dash lights up showing they are all working, you can just press the power button a second time (with your foot on the brake) to go to READY.

FYI, you can get the OEM part for more like $160 by shopping around the online Toyota stores.

Personally, I would only want to do this once and forget it. My labor is worth $75 per hour to me so that is only 3.4 years to break even and I'd gladly pay that premium to not have to do it again. However if you're happy to do this annually, more power to you.

I maybe didn't search thoroughly enough but yes 160 sounds a bit more reasonable to buy one time and forget about it.

And I DID go to ready with all the amber dash lights showing on. That's why I said I had to turn off, wait, and turn back on to give the system time to fully come on and pass the self test.
