Anyone testing Li-ion battery with Torque pro app

    I have BAFX products Bluetooth Obd2 scanner. My car has Li-ion battery. It is JDM Prius Alpha, similar to European Prius plus and Australian Prius v.

    I want to run Battery diagnostic test using obd2 and Torque pro. Does anyone do this test on Li-ion battery? Is there any specific PID I need for this test? I am seeking your suggestions.

    I am not an expert on this, but have you tried the Dr. Prius app? From what other people in these forums say, it does a great job of analyzing the traction battery. Unlike the very flexible generic Torque Pro ODBII app, it is specific to Hybrids, meaning you don't need to know the PIDs to analyze your battery.

    At $9, (for the version that supports a limited number of VIN numbers) it is worth trying. If also will turn off that annoying backup beeping!

    Tried free version, only showed battery blocks voltage nothing else. I am not sure how many parameters I can test by paid version. Can you tell me actually how many parameters included in paid version.

    I'll let someone else answer that one. I have not used the app much, other than reputation. I am having issues with my Prius V that I am currently busy with, or I would dive in to help.

    Maybe "problems" was not the right word. I have been cleaning out the whole EGR system to (hopefully) prevent the head gasket from blowing. This often happens with the Prius V somewhere around 120k-150k miles (200,000 to 250,000 km). If this system gets plugged up with carbon, the ignition temperature gets too hot, and blows the head gasket. It takes days to do this cleanout the first time.

    Your Alpha might not have an "Exhaust Gas Recirculation" system in it. It is an emissions control system required in North America.

    Thanks for your reply. Alpha also has EGR and it may be clogged around 200000 km. I am at only 91k km.
