I'm searching for an interior trim kit for the plastic clips/fasteners for my 2009 Prius base model (beige/blond interior). I'd like to get a kit that contains multiples of the different clips that break whenever removing panels, etc. for repairs.

Searching both amazon and ebay, for some reason, I'm having a hard time identifying exactly what kit I should get. It seems most kits are oriented towards multiple manufacturers and many clips contained in the kits would likely be a waste for me.

Does anyone know of any specific kits that would work well for my car? If so, please provide a link. Also, something that matches my interior color would be great.

    Thanks.

I doubt such a kit exists. If you've got specific fasteners missing/broken, search online Toyota retailers and you can find specific fasteners. They're not cheap though. You can get generic, but they tend to be ill-fitting, sketchy quality. Try McGeorge Toyota Parts or Amayama, a couple of sources.

Hitting up the junk yard whenever a new vehicle comes in a good way to get these... Also I buy one of these every year or two... Most of them match: 146Pcs Fender Door Hood Bumper Trim Clip Body Retainer Assortment For Toyota | eBay but always end up with stuff I don't need...

If you have specific clip in mind, identify them so we can point you in the right direction. I easily find mine on Amazon

    Yeah,

It depends whether you want to take a chance on the quality of the kit possibly made from Chinese knock-offs.

The link I provided is the kit made by Dorman from equivalent OEM quality parts. It includes specific interior panel clips.

A piece of plastic is a piece of plastic... Having to buy all those pieces, most all of them you will never use, is going to have zero difference other than spending $10 versus spending $40.

Unfortunately, you do not have a degree in plastics technology.

High performance plastics like polyetherether ketone can be more expensive and perform better than 6AL4V titanium alloy.

Polyether ether ketone (PEEK Plastic): Uses, Properties & Material Guide.

That's like replacing engine component bolts with one's from a hardware store and claiming that, "a bolt is a bolt."

Oh my god... You really think Dormon is using high performance plastics? Give me a break... Dormon is just boosting its profit margin because they know people wrongly think the way you do. I bet the plastic quality is identical. If you'd like we can send some samples to someone on Prius chat to compare?

I'm sure that you also buy counterfeit Toyota oil filters off of eBay, too. I prefer to buy the genuine article from a Toyota dealer or the equivalent from a quality manufacturer like Purolator or Wix.

Lol, there's like two or three companies that make all the world's oil filters and most brands are not much different than the label on the outside.

There's a big difference between doing legit research and paying a little extra because there's a proven quality advantage versus paying extra because you trust the corporations who are scamming you with a higher price because you blindly think a higher price means better quality.

In the context of this thread, there's no need for performance parts to hold your interior panels on your car. To say otherwise is absurd.

I would trust a Dorman wheel stud every day over any unbranded equivalent one every day.

In the 1990's there were laws past against counterfeit bolts found in passenger aircraft. A counterfeit Rolex watch won;t kill you. A counterfeit aircraft part likely would.

A manufacturer cannot risk a massive recall by using a sub-standard part, Recently, Toyota lost a couple of million on a serious of failed fuel pumps.

I fine no need to continue with this conversation. Ignorance is bliss, I guess.

There's a big difference between the quality of a stud holding your car wheel on and the quality of piece of plastic holding a cover in your interior on, especially when it take 15 seconds to replace a plastic fastener if it fails.

Gina Toyoda do not make fuel pumps either recalled or not. They don't make brakes akibono zebrakenko etc make them to toyodas specs. Many parts are this way today. 1 fuel pump part no fits my motorbikes all my Toyoda Corollas in tank from 84 to 09 or so .and quite a bit more. It never ends

Like I said, which parts are you looking for, specifically?

Probably the slide and then the push-in hole type for door panels and what have you it's the most common there are billions of companies that make them I've bought the cheap ones about the expensive one I bought the colored ones the colored cheap ones usually just fly apart on removal so I have a whole storage thing full of them 30 or 40 just sitting in there I don't care if they break these panels are removed so rarely when they're put back on they usually stay in a long time

My apologies for the delay. I stopped getting email notifications, so I mistakenly thought there was no more activity in this thread.

    I'm looking for multiple clips.
    For example:
The blue clips holding the trim panel attached to the trunk.

Also, pretty much all the clips required in this video of a strut/shock replacement.

In the second video, he even references a trim clip kit, but doesn't specify which one it is. He obviously broke multiple clips while filming the video.

    Thanks.

I don’t know of any clip or fastener kits meant just for Prius cars. Reputable aftermarket suppliers such as Auveco and Disco do offer assortments of Toyota-compatible clips (e.g, the Auveco 6910, 6913, and 6916, and the Disco 8173 and 8174 (PDF)), but these include some that aren’t used on your car and lack others that you may need.

Instead, you might consider ordering the Genuine Toyota parts from an exporting company in Japan, such as Amayama Trading or IMPEX JAPAN. Their list prices are often lower than even the most-discounted U.S. dealer prices, and clips are small and lightweight, so the shipping costs from Japan would be modest.

That’s what I did, shortly after I bought my fourth-generation Prius car. From the Repair Manual (more info) and parts catalog, I made a list of all the interior and exterior clips and the quantities that I thought might be needed. I ordered these from IMPEX JAPAN, along with spares for every fuse and incandescent lamp, other spare parts, and accessories such as the wheel stopper and drive recorder.

Pretty much the same as most Corollas from you know 2003 or so all the way up to I know a 14 15. I don't have anything newer than that here and try to keep it that way but I've got gajillion clips all of them I'm betting I've bought some from Toyota I've bought many from impex and other places my Milwaukee divider box is full of all different kinds all different colors mostly for Toyotas and Japanese cars I don't have any GM stuff
