I am at the dealer for my annual oil change and multipoint inspection. My 2013 Prius is 7 years old an has 47000 mi. I was concerned about the inverter coolant level being at the low mark. The service advisor escorted me to the mechanic who explained that it should be on the low mark because the level rises. He did not top it off. I believe him. It is December and 40 degrees F. The car warmed on the 15 mile drive to the dealership. The moral is to let it be until the fluid level falls below the low mark.

On a Gen3 car, it's actually a bad sign that your coolant is LOW. I would fill it up in between the low and full marks and monitor it. See if it goes low again.

A system that is not leaking, should be at the same level as it left the factory (it shouldn't be low when it left the factory).

Both my inverter and engine coolant levels very SLOWLY dropped, reached low lines, maybe around 50k kms. I topped both up and they’ve held steady since.
