I accidently cracked a piece of my grill on my brand new 2022 PP!! Long story short, i need to replace this part,(see photo) without having to buy the entire front grille assembly for $475. I'm really not even sure what exactly this part is called, any info is much appreciated.

Unfortunately, you have to buy the entire front grille assembly. The acrylic facia part is an integral part of the grille assembly and you can not purchase it separately. If your PP is LE or XLE trim, then you can save a few hundred bucks over the Limited trim for you don't need the part that will house the parking sensors.

See this thread: Front plastic replacement- near the hood or around emblem | PriusChat
Abd this thread: Bumperplugs.com - Right color for the glossy black part of the bumper? | PriusChat
Note that the parts number on that thread may or may not be the one you need. Make sure to get the one for your trim.

Once you get that fixed; you'll need to check your adaptive cruise control. The sensor is housed in that Toyota emblem that also got whacked. Your computer may not be able to see the car in front of you; no auto braking or collision warning.

My new grill came with new sensor's but we used the old ones.
    The sensor's weren't damaged.
    Everything worked as it should.

I think @BiomedO1 is talking about the front-facing radar that is behind the Toyota emblem, not the sonar parking sensors on the bumper cover. OP, if the profile is correct, seems to have LE trim, so he does not need a grille assembly with sonar parking sensors. That will save him a few hundred bucks.

All sensors- cruise control, lane departure, collision warning are working properly. it was no impact, my car did the little roll forward thing after you hit park and release the brake. i was just a little too close the the barrier and it just pushed up into it and cracked.

i CAN search scrapyards for totaled 2022 PPs, but that's a waiting game and a lotta digging.
i just will NOT spend $475 for that, it's just ridiculous

Yeah, the sensor is probably fine. But to replace the broken acrylic part, you will have to replace the entire grille assembly. And in that process, you will have to detach the emblem and sensors behind the emblem and reattach them back to the new grille. This may cause a slight change in sensor location and aim, such that you may have to recalibrate the sensor. I am not sure of the recalibration process, but if required, you may need to take the car to a dealer for an additional $$$.

It may be better to let your insurance company take care of the entire repair including the recalibration. Or, just put some duct tape over the hole and leave it go... until you really need to make an insurance claim someday.

NOT going through insurance, the whole thing is likely around $1000 realistically, probably less out the door. I do not want my full coverage premium to go up even more. That's the WORST thing about a new car, it's not the payments even, it's the extortion that is full coverage insurance, SUCH fkn BS! I guess I'll have to just bite the bullet and buy the grille assembly.
On the other hand my auto body guy told me I could save if I find a wreck with the front end intact and cannibalize that grille assembly. I haven't seen an exploded view of the assembly (not sure it exists) so i don't really know if it's even possible. HE says so, YOU say no. FML...

Just do nothing for a while, my 2 cents.

With patience, a salvage bumper of the right colour might fall into your lap. Or you get used to it. Either way.

Or…, I wouldn’t doubt there’s some plastic magician at a body shop, that can make it disappear. For $100~200??

When you replace it; you may want to apply some of this stuff:
,I think this stuff will keep it together. The glass jaw may crack, but this stuff should hold it together.

It is $288.68 for the LE and XLE trims, not $475.

You need to replace it because that's a huge cosmetic defect that is a $3,000 deduction in the sales value of your car.

So are you absolutely SURE that's the correct glass jaw for my 2022 Prime? Are there any issues to worry about with the existing sensors? I just have a base model Prime. It does have lane departure collision warning, radar controlled cruise and a few other features that utilize sensors in the grill.

It bugs me every time look at it. I don't really know any palstic-ey, fiber glass wizards... I'd be alright with patching it up, but it's gotta be cheaper if i'm goin g to go that road...

I am sure it is correct. The other alternative is for the Level 2 package, which is the Advanced/Limited trim. If you have any doubts, you can also call a dealer to verify the part number.
