But you have enough time to waste by not posting the photos that others are asking for to get to the answer.

Ummmm......It's a Gen 1. The serial numbers are viewable through the case. There's an opening about 3 inches x 6 inches on the top of the case. (left side of battery in the previous photos) You can see the module tops in the photos, which is how I was able to say those are not Gen 1 or Gen 4 modules.

Nope, not a typo. The first instance is referring to the car generation and the second instance is referring to the battery module generation.

When you told the other guy to get a clue (original post 82) because the OP would need to have the tech come back and disassemble the battery to get a photo of the modules, I just responded that it wasn't needed because it was a Gen 1, which has an opening in the top. I can't help it if you then edit and delete your post. My fault for not quoting to provide context? No harm no foul, we all make mistakes about the different gens sometimes. I've made plenty of responses to Gen 3 questions, thinking it was Gen 2. Nothing new there.

I posted 2 pics… now the battery has been installed and covered in the car and I have no idea how to open it… I have the number on the battery that’s ended with R151 but it doesn’t seem to be the serial number another friend here was talking about… As long as the “cell” is really a new one I’d like to give it a try and I’ll travel again soon anyway… They fixed the “check” light for me today…

Actually they made that “check” light disappear with a cellphone…without doing a diagnostic…

Then we shall never know if they are new or not. Maybe next time, lol. If you ever have a chance to pop the carpet off the battery, get the numbers and let us know.

Was this someone coming to you, connecting a Bluetooth device to the OBD port and then reading/resetting fault codes using a phone app? Did they tell you what the code was?

Actually, if at the end of a sentence you say "period", the translation puts it in. At least that's how mine works.

Been a little while since I messed with a Gen 1, but I think that carpet piece right in the middle just pops out and exposes the battery case.
