    Hi folks,

The other day I had to make a 3-point turn on a narrow street. Ever since then my Prius feels like it's slowing down more quickly than it used to.

Had my regular mechanic check my brakes. He says they're fine. Slide pins are sliding freely. No marks to indicate that the pads were grabbing recently. He doesn't feel any bad slowdown. Admittedly it's not horrible, but I've had this car since day 1 and it's noticeable to me.

Can re-gen suddenly get stronger? It also feels like I'm having to press a bit harder on the accelerator to get it moving.

    Only 260,000 miles! Any thoughts?

    Oh, it's blue! -- Seaside Pearl. ;-)

    Bill in MA USA.

And since day one you're still on your original traction battery and all that or?

    (1) I'll try switching to neutral around 30 MPG tomorrow to see what happens.
    (2) Yes, still on original traction battery. Biggest expense to-date was a new cat converter a year or so ago.

And you seem surprised that you are finally seeing some signs
of age from the engine and / or the HV battery ?
    REALLY ????

Now might be a good time to 'top balance' or recondition the HV battery. What is your MPG historically and currently.

BTW, the traction packs look fairly reasonable to me:

I'm a conservative driver. 55 MPG in the summer. 50 MPG not in the summer. According to the guess gauge. Car is parked inside my garage when not in use.

Could be, but a little can go a long way... even on PriusChat. Personally wouldn't gamble on 300k at this stage of the game. But TMMV*.
