Do you think I can drive 20 miles without the catalytic converter to the shop for repair? Or would it be better to deliver Prius on a tow truck?

Yes, noisy, but you can drive it to the shop, unless you have a Gen 3 or 4 with a cut in the coolant circuit to the exhaust preheater.

You can, itll sound loud. Also make sure to keep the windows open or have the AC NOT recirculate air back inside. If you feel sleepy, open the windows. The carbon monoxcide will enter inside from under the cabin since its not going all the way back.

Thanks. I will. Also I have noticed that the coolant level for the inverter is low, and the engine coolant tank looks empty. I'm going to refill both

Your profile shows a Gen 2 2008 Prius. That has no exhaust reheater . If the coolant is low, there could be other damage. Check for leaks an repair them.

Make sure they didnt cut any coolant lines, thats the only thing i could think of why it might be low

20 miles is pretty far drive to go without coolant as far as overheating is concerned

Ok. The cat has been replaced along with the oxygen sensor. Now I have a check engine light. Any idea how to fix it? Thanks

Computer probably needs a reset so disconnect battery and reconnect. Engine light should go away
That or white cable in the fuse box might work too

Id recommend taking the o2 sensor off and spraying some paint thinner inside. I did it by pouring it into the fuel tank and it got rid of the code, but it also destroyed my headgasket. It could also potentially destroy the rubber o rings in the fuel line. If i had to do it again, id just do it directly into the cat from the sensor which is pretty easy to get to

Update on my situation. The O2 sensor has been replaced by the OEM one from Denso. My bad. I should not go cheap at first place. Now no 0420 check engine light. Hopefully, it's fixed.

When in doubt always go Denso. Or Aisin. Good thing to learn working on Toyotas and wanting to save time on doing it right the first time.
