All deference to Prof. Kelly but:
My ancient understanding is the AC voltage can be higher than the DC because the zero-crossing allows the victim to be 'thrown off' the circuit. In contrast, DC tends to tighten things up leading to a 'slow burn.'

Also, I am so old that pre-kindergarten, I once had occasion to test the battery of a portable, tube radio. Not having a proper meter, I used the tongue test. Fortunately, I woke up on the bed behind me ... it is good to be lucky!

Good thing I got 20 years to learn all that jazz... Of course I've been pruning trees around power lines since the early 90's and I definitely know that once your flesh completes the circuit your muscles freeze up and you can't let go until all the life has been fried out of them.

10 units shipped for the year eh?

Well at least this truck is pretty good at hauling goalposts around.

I'd hate to see what a shortage looked like...

My read was that this was the first 15 - but in any event presuming the same scenario as model X deliveries - the next batch started just a couple days later ..... & production deliveries went up from there, if deliveries follow the same pattern as the X - for whatever that's worth.
    EDIT
Just watched a YouTube video with one of the Tesla Engineers stating that on the new V4 Tesla chargers? These pigs will charge at 350 KW !!
LOL - That 800v architecture ... not too shabby.

Bob in the frequency range of 50hz-60hz that ac power is typically delivered in outlets, AC is much more dangerous than DC. I believe it is more than twice as dangerous. Most mammals are thrown by dc, but ac can cause them to clamp onto the power, and is much more likely to cause a heart attack. At high frequencies AC is safer.

    Incorrect, sort of:

AC and DC will both cause you to clamp down and not let go. Getting thrown or not depends on which muscles the current passes through. Generally if you grab it with your hand it will cause all your hand muscles to tense. But since our closing fist muscles are stronger than our letting go muscles we tend to hold on, be it AC or DC.

If we aren't grabbing onto the source of current (or where it goes out to ground) it can pass through muscles that cause a person (or animal) to jump or jerk away. Like if you touch it with the back of your hand, the tensing would pull your hand and arm away. Again, it doesn't matter if it's AC or DC.

The problem with 50 to 60Hz AC is it's more likely to throw the heart into confusion and cause cardiac arrest. Desfibrilators use DC to reset the heart. If you have DC go through your heart, it may stop. But when you're disconnected it will be more likely to restart, unlike with AC that may need the person to receive CPR and an AED in order for their heart to start beating again.

Another problem with both is electrocution, when electricity warms up the flesh to the point it cooks. Again it doesn't matter if it's AC or DC.

One advantage of AC is if the current passing through the body is also going through an arc. AC is easier for the arc to stop arcing, but DC is more likely to continue arcing.

You can hold 5,000 volts and not get shocked. As long as you are not connected to a ground, neutral or a second phase. Just like a bird on uninsulated high voltage power lines.

Which is the reason bucket trucks are insulated from the boom.

Seems to be an industry trend... Maybe we'll all end like Cuba and will just have to make do with all our old cars for the next 50 years?

Here is Professor Kelly referencing the OSHA AC and DC safety limits ( that don't require the need for protective equipment ) along with the document name for fairly easy lookup and verification.

I hear you, I was told many years ago by a phyicsist. given all the correct conditions ( two wire under the skin connected to a aaa 1.5 volt battery ) could stop a human heart. I never felt a need to test the warning even if being a bit skeptical at the time and not being provided the exact set of conditions to test with anyways. Not that I would have tried testing that even if I was given the exact conditions....
I've been shocked enough as a kid to have a healthy respect for all things electric, even 12 volt lead acid motorcycle and car batteries and 1.2 volt high drain NiMH cells.

Online review made it sound amazing. He went on about drive by wire steering and how safe it is in aircraft. If it has mechanical backup like present electric steering has here on the ground, ok. Another video they smacked it with a sledge hammer and it didn’t dent the door.
As for ac power, not a new idea really. I am pretty sure Ford has it in gas and the electric F series. These kind came out many decades ago. Fabco Power.

I drove mine today, love it. Manual shift makes you feel young again, except I have a sore foot. I feel I am missing some awareness about life now. Oh well who cares about older folks musings.

Apparently the medical insurance companies do ... given how they flood TV, cable, YouTube, and Google ads. Personally, I think they practice medicine without a license. Why would I pay money so some remote clerk can deny paying anything for my medical care.

Look on the sunny side. I notice animals seem to live in the present much more. I don’t think we should call them animals as if we aren’t. So old or new the present is all there is.
