I failed to change my water pump and blew a head gasket at 140k miles. Also my hybrid battery is nearing end of life so I’ll be swapping it out for OEM next week

Now I’m watching things more carefully. However I would like to create a custom dashboard for Car Scanner (bat temps, intake manifold, EGR pressure, a few more) and I am not finding a manual anywhere. The FAQ is pretty useless.

Also same for Dr Prius although they seem to be more about running the test than a dashboard.

any suggestions for app how to?

I don't use Dr. Prius much but I don't think it has a typical dashboard feature.

Car Scanner is pretty self explanatory for how to create a custom dashboard (use the setting gear at the top of the screen when you click on a dashboard), the trick is finding the codes for the custom PIDS that aren't included in the default list. If you search for the "Custom PID list for Torque app" and open the .CSV file in a google spreadsheet it will list all the PID codes, headers, and formulas. Then you just select NEW PID in Car Scanner and under Sensor Properties you fill out all that stuff. For example for battery cooling fan speed it would be Command: 219B, Header:7E2, Formula: B, Min:0, Max:6

You can even do an Action PID, which could be useful for things like changing the reverse beep mode, although I haven't tried this with Car Scanner. I did experiment with HV battery fan speed control and it does work, but it only lasts for a second (there's been discussion on why which I won't get into).

Torque is great for Android, but I'd almost rather just use Hybrid Assistant because of it's fabulous dashboard. I tried to get Torque for IOS and I'm pretty sure they are all scams. Make sure if using Car Scanner on IOS it's the one by Stanislav Svistunov.
