i'm not concerned about current owners, but it's quite a hit on production

Oh, forgot to mention that I don't know if they're rolling out the recall in phases, or if we're all getting access to the fix at the same time. The dealer letter doesn't say anything about phases, so I suspect it's going to be all at the same time. My VIN is under 3000(built 30 March, 2023), so I suspect I'll be in one of the first phases if they do it that way.

Production restarted back in mid-June, so it was a 2 month loss. So 2024 production will be down maybe 10k-15k below what it should have been. (I'm going from old memory on monthly production figures, so take those with a HUGE grain of salt.)

Looks like a copy-and-paste error in step VI.3.h - nonsensically repeating "Using a moulding remover, disengage the 3 claws to remove the rear door trim upper cover." from a couple of pages previously. Not sure if there should have been another step about the yellow clip there.

Did you post the European instructions before? Maybe we can cross check the two.

No, I haven't found the European version of the instructions. Got what seemed to be the document number, but couldn't find the actual document.

(But my dealer apparently could - my car was done a few weeks back. Took one-and-a-half hours.)

The kit comes with two new yellow clips, so the wrong instruction should say something about removing the existing yellow clip by sliding it out.

The recall is now fully live. I just got off the phone with my dealership and I'm scheduled for next week.

I take full credit for making it come out, given I took the effort to drive several states over to get a different car last week, since I got tired of waiting.

    You're welcome.

Is there some way I can get you to buy a snowblower so it won't snow so much this winter?

My XSE Premium arrived at the dealer a couple days ago. I was supposed to take delivery on Friday, but another "issue" popped up. The service department told my sales guy that there is a "stop sale" (not sure of the exact term) in addition to the one for the rear door recall. Service said they can't deliver a car that was only shipped with one remote. The second remote is supposed to arrived on Tuesday. Anyone else heard of this?

Maybe it's related to this: Delivered with one key FOB | Page 6 | PriusChat

That sounds like bs. The only stop sale is for the rear door recall, and hundreds of thousands of Toyotas have been delivered with only one remote over the last couple years.

At a guess, I wonder if they had a lot of techs take Friday off to make it an extra long weekend, and they weren't able to get the pre-delivery inspection/prep done in time.

There are two active recalls on the Prius/Prius Prime:
    1. Safety Recall for the rear doors (if yours was built after April, it already has the updated part)
    2. Compliance Recall for the max weight stickers(but this is only for cars from Gulf States Toyota - a WI car shouldn't be affected)

There is one other service campaign - the 2nd key delivery campaign - but your car(if built in April or later) should not be eligible for the new key until October.

There is one Prius Prime-specific TSB for the 2024 model year(T-SB-0054-24), but I doubt that applies to yours as I think yours already has the updated programming(it's an ECU update to make sure the car properly goes into sleep mode while being plugged in for charging).

Now if your car was a late March or April build that got held up at the port until the fix was ready(or it's been at the dealership since April), then I could see why they'd want to keep it. It probably qualifies for the 2nd key, and it might need the ECU update.

FWIW, I picked mine up last week, and this did not occur. The dealer explained the 'one key fob issue', promised Toyota would reach out etc etc, but it was never hinted to be delayed.
