Anyone have the NexPower lithium?

You replaced the clock-spring on your car and took it for a 300 mile one way test ride, rested 30 minutes and drove back? Holy moley, you are a maniac, lol !! I hope it was a beautiful scenic ride!

During the half hour rest was the AC on? If so, did the car go down to 2 bars and cycle between 2 and 3 bars the entire time? When it came time to go, did you start your drive while at the 2-3 bar mark?

Disconnect the air tube from the filter housing and see if anything changes.

 

Lol, no ac was never on during trip, it was on 3 bars when I got there and started back and the entire back trip it stayed between 2 red bars until I came back into city. I have already looked into the tube you mentioned and it is clean. What I meant by lack of torque was totally no power from the electric motor as battery had no juice but engine ran fine and was screaming on the way back.

 

Are you saying the Chinese cylindrical modules are copies of the NPB? I believe it might be the other way around, I have seen many commentators here waste down, the Chinese modules as having half the capacity of OEM even though I have seen actual capacity test done showing 6500mAH, IMHO these modules are a cheap good alternative to OEM or Lithium, however don’t expect the same longevity as OEM.
as for lithium, there is a video on YouTube where a tech did a tare down of the LifePO blade and the “cheap looking balancer being used inside” even though what’s good it’s a serviceable part.

 

I installed the lithium pack from NexPower about 18 months ago and figured that it would last a life time in my 2008 Prius. Now I'm getting a P3021 code saying the 11th block is bad. Waiting to hear back from NexPower to see if they are going to back up their warranty.

 

FYI, My power and mileage was suffering horribly so I did a little research and found the Nexpower web page. Sounded great so I ordered it. While I was waiting for it to come in I was messing around and removed the orange power plug. the installation seemed pretty easy so I replaced the plug and went on my way to watch the videos on YouTube. The strange thing is that when I started driving my Prius I noticed my gas mileage was back up and the power returned to normal. All I can attribute this to is the plug must not have been making good contact. The lithium upgrade had to be paid in advance so it was too late to change my mind. My Prius guy wanted $300 to install the upgrade so I did it myself. Pretty easy. Could not have done it without You Tube. Did not need any help getting it in or out. Really enjoyed it. I was 75 yrs old at the time. Much younger now! ;-)

 

Not surprised to hear you barely got 2 years out of Project Lithium. They have abandoned the lithium project and will probably sell you the upgrade to their latest cash-grab project sodium battery pack. I recently dumped a failed Nexcell aka Nexpower lithium pack and installed a new oem HV battery from Toyota. Shelled out $2000 for a factory battery instead of risking a lithium meltdown.

 

Meanwhile I'm at 57 months on Jack's winter testing protoype pack with now problems at all... Allthough I'm looking forward to sodium upgrade someday.

 

Was able to reach Jack earlier in the day and mentioned you. He said according to your records it's not 18 months but 26 months... And we all agree, including Jack, that the pack should last longer (I'm at 57 months with no issue) and Jack spent years going broke giving away free packs to address this problem before he realized that switching to Sodium-Ion solves all those problems for good. At that point he had to decide whether to shut down and file for bankruptcy and screw over all his customers or rebrand and continue to assist his existing customers. Jack didn't choose the easy solution because he cares about his customers and chose a much harder path... When you notice the price on his out of warranty replacement on his website, please realize that with tarriffs and other expenses he's still losing many hundreds of dollars on each pack he sells at that out of warranty and in warranty price. But Jack wants to do as best he's able for his customers and he's at his limits of what he can offer.

 

I heard from him too. According to my records it is less than 24 months that I finally got the Lithium pack. Why are you and him referring to this lithium as "out of warranty"? As far as I am concerned his problems are not my problems. Wanting to charge me $960 to stand behind his product is not right! He had an awesome sales add which this battery pack did not live up to. I borrowed the money to buy this and now I;m expected to spend another $1000? Spare me the tears!

 

What was the original warranty for the lithium version?

 

2 year warranty for pack at time of purchase.

Customer currently at month 26.

My healthy 57 month old pack didn't even come with a warranty.

Startup businesses are messy like that.

 

Time of purchase or date of delivery? I guess it really doesn't matter. He got railed either way. Didn't exactly live up to the hype. An expensive lesson I suppose.
