    Good info, thanks.

What is the best way to pull up the rear seats without bending or damaging them?

Grab it slightly after the curve begins on each end. It's just a plastic clip on each side that clips into the base. It requires some force but not too much.

It's also hooked at the back, so don't get too aggressive trying to pull it out after disengaging the two clips. I've always had the rear seat backs off before pulling up the bottom, so I don't know how accessible the hook location is with them still installed. The seat bottom has the loop and one of the brackets bolted to the floor has the hook.

just blew a 3rd toyo tire in 4 months of owning my 2024 prius le. with no spare donut or whatsoever and the useless repair kit ( might help with punctures), but big potholes and the occasional sidewalk curb hit blowing a tire left me having to pay for a tow truck the first time ,and a tire emergency road service the second is forcing me to look for a donut spare or a full size rim a tire to keep at home or carry in the trunk. the car does not even come with a jack and tool to remove the screws so you can take the blown tire to a show for replacement!. any suggestions where to purchase on line at a decent price? . most of the prices are crazy $300 for a fittable rim and similar for a tire!.
hope some fellow owners can advice

I never had a flat on a Prius, but I imagine if I had one, and didn't have roadside assistance, I could drive a few miles to a tire shop on the flat.

Read this thread from the beginning, it will answer all of your questions. Much cheaper to go with the OE toyota parts than aftermarket. But wait until memorial day for parts sales. This is the thread:

I added two new pictures to my Modern Spare Album showing the Modern Spare tire mounted on our 2024 Prime XSE. We picked up a nail in the right rear and fortunately we were home when we got the low pressure warning. Michelin Primacy All Season 195/50R19, $232 at Discount Tire, getting fixed today. There were two other cheaper tire brands to choose from. Checked with a local Toyota dealer and they wanted $350 for the exact same tire. An epidemic of nails in tires here in upstate SC, my daughter got one visiting us last week and the Honda dealer said he got 9 other calls that day for flat repairs.

I think some people enjoy spreading nails on the roads. Some sort of psychological disorder I assume.

Makes me wonder if I should buy road hazard warranties for $43 a tire. Only takes one more nail to pay for itself.

I'll probably go the Value Spare route and cut the existing foam in my LE. Getting an M rated spare and decent tools for the job is important. I can cut foam to fit easily enough. The threaded tire tie down would be nice so that the tire doesn't shift or go flying in an accident.

I wouldn't recommend Roadside Service. Bit of a nightmare when I needed it. Better to drive on the flat to a tire shop, and buy a new tire.

    Drive on the flat?
Won't that very quickly destroy your rim as well?

If the tire shop can find one. These tires are not a common size. Saturday Sam's Club couldn't even order one. Discount Tire has a couple that they can order.

I've had 3 punctures since I bought mine in October with under 14k miles on the vehicle. If Autonation Frisco had been open yesterday I would have traded in the 2024 Prius on a Ford F-150 that they had at a good price. Sunday I decided to plug the latest hole with 2 patches because the Sam's Club patch wasn't holding. So far so good. Trading the Prius in a on truck would let us get rid of our old beater SUV. However, I should keep this car and learn how to solve the tire issue. The wife's 2017 Prius is high mileage and might not last long enough to pay off the truck.

Check out that thread, all the info is there. Next toyota parts sale will likely be Labor Day and/or Black Friday.

Blaming a car for tire punctures? So if you drive over a nail with an F-150, it magically won't puncture the tire? Or is road debris magically attracted to Priuses more than other cars?

Does that sound batshit crazy to anyone else, or is it just me?

Or to put it more nicely, correlation does not equal causation.

It isn't the car's fault that is was made and sold with crap tires and no spare. The 2024 Prius has had more punctures in 14k miles than my 2006 Envoy or my 2017 Prius. From reading these forums, it doesn't look like it is just my bad luck.

Nah, it's pretty much just your bad luck. If you said you had the sidewall blow out three times after going over pot holes, then I'd consider it. But punctures? No. A big ol' all-terrain truck tire might do better at that than the tires on the gen5, but not standard all-season car/cuv/suv tires. I'd be looking at what changed about where you're driving, not looking at the car/tires. And I'd have tried to find out exactly what caused the punctures to see if there was a pattern. Were they all similar nails? Demolition debris? Was there a rash of road vandalism in the area? Road construction along your commute?

Just because a vocal handful of people have also been visited by the bad luck fairy doesn't mean there's anything wrong with the tires. What about much larger number of us who have had the car for over two years and have 20k-60k on the car with no flats?

Have I added a spare? Obviously. I've only made about eleven million posts on the topic. But I did that because of where I live, not because I think the stock tires are bad(at least for punctures). Being stuck 20 miles from anywhere in the depths of winter can be a death sentence up here. Even in summer, I could be waiting for multiple hours if I'm way out in the country between any towns with a tow truck. A spare just makes good sense. If I spent all my time in an urban environment where a tow truck was never more than 20min away, I don't know if I would've bothered.

And just because I want Michelin or Nokian or Vredestein to come out with different tires in OEM sizes doesn't mean I think the originals are defective. It just means I think they're crap just like every other standard all-season tire on the market and on almost every new car. But I don't blame Toyota for not putting a premium all-weather or performance tire on an economy-class car.
