    2010 Prius 3 with approx. 200k miles.

Just took it to a "hybrid specialist" shop to replace the hybrid battery which went on the fritz. Replaced with a "reconditioned" replacement w/ 3 year warranty.

Upon pickup (after I paid, of course), I noticed the navigation screen reads "no Map DVD. Please insert Map DVD." The map system hasn't worked in quite a while, but this error message doesn't display unless I would press the "Map" button. Prior to hybrid replacement, the Radio screen would appear upon putting the vehicle into Start mode.

So, after a very expensive battery replacement I now do not have key components of my car working: no backup camera, no bluetooth, no radio, no satellite radio that I pay a monthly subscription for.

    Things I have tried:
    - air spray in DVD slot which did help the system eject the DVD.
    - Hard reset. Remove 12V ground wire, remove orange shutoff in the trunk, remove large fuse pull, wait 15 minutes, replace everything & restart vehicle.
    - Update DVD to 18.1 purchased on eBay for $30.
-Scanned for codes at the shop after pointing out the above were not functioning, which previously were functioning before hybrid battery replacement. No codes came up.

What I cannot try (but shouldn't matter due to hard reset):
    - soft reset. The Trip button on steering wheel doesn't function, so I can't navigate to Trip A screen, to reset the maintenance errors or perform a soft reset.

In my research, this seems like a security feature. Of course, the shop states "the internet says a lot of things," and "we've never encountered anything like this before."

They say I can leave my car with them another day to troubleshoot (i.e. hold my car for the day that I depend on so they can say they checked it out, but do nothing), but that if they can't figure it out the only option is to replace the entire nav/radio unit.

Constructive/helpful info from people with experience in this?

I know the miles are up there, but I love this car, and having just spent close to $2k to replace the hybrid I prefer to drive the used car I know vs. another one I can afford right now that I do not know.

First of all, you need to relax. There is probably some sort of a software glitch that needs to be diagnosed before anything can be done to solve the problem. Being you don't have the ability to do the diagnosis yourself, you need to take it to a professional. If you don't trust the shop that replaced the battery, take it to someone else.

Replacing the radio will more than likely not solve the problem, so don't start throwing parts at it without a diagnosis. Doing a reboot by disconnecting the batteries doesn't always solve problems like this, the car needs to be scanned for trouble codes.

Also, the car is high mileage and fifteen years old you can't expect it to be totally reliable, it will need repairs more frequently.

Is it a Prius or Prius C? I thought the first model year of Prius C in USA is 2012.

    I'm relaxed.
Never tell a woman to relax.
I didn't say I expected it to be totally reliable at 200k miles, or complain about repairs.
Did you read my post? This problem was a direct result of the shop replacing the hybrid battery.
Scanned for codes at the shop on the spot when I pointed out the backup camera, radio, and bluetooth were no longer working. No error codes came up. I will add that to my original post.
I didn't say I was planning to throw parts at it. I explained the situation clearly for people who have actual experience with this and might be able to help. In fact, all I have paid for was a new nav DVD because the obvious explanation would be that the original one is scratched and couldn't scan after reboot.
