My visions of 300k from the hv battery have been dashed by the untimely appearance of the red triangle of death.P0A80 code.

I prefer not to replace it in 18 degree weather. How long do I have before I’m calling the hook for a trip back home?

It’s running through the charging cycles normally

What Bluetooth OBD2 dongle are you using with the Dr Prius app? Have you used it previously and seen realistic data with the app, or is this the first time that you used the dongle with the app?

    It’s some cheap eBay dongle.

I have used it before, but never snapped what normal operation looked like. I don’t think I saw that much red.

I’ve used the dongle on my 96 Ram and it gave me codes when I had problems.

I use Car Scanner app to read the codes.

The good news is that your data indicates that you have corrosion in the voltage sensor harness and inside the ECU which is creating signal noise/chaos so the car shut it down. This is a simple clean up job and link to new higher quality voltage sensor harness is in my signature of this post below. I suspect if you get this done right away you'll still have a good chance of making it to 300K miles on your OEM pack.

When you see data in the Dr Prius app that is not realistic, like in your screenshot, it means that the problem is the dongle. Buy one of the dongles that is recommended on the Dr Prius website.

My experience is if the dongle is bad it won't connect... But if the dongle gives impossible data from the hybrid battery pack it's corrosion causing signal noise to the point that the battery data is not accurate, but it still stays connected and works fine for non-hybrid battery related features.

Elm 327 purple works perfectly cheap . As mentioned this is a quick cleanup job and you might make it to 400,000 MI because thedata here is fubar

Ask Jack what he thinks about the screenshot shown in post #1. I think that he will agree with me that the problem is the cheap bluetooth dongle that the OP is using.

it will be a cheap check, and I can use my cheapie in my 96 Dodge just to read codes.

if I’m going to have to gut my interior, I’m going to update the hardware. I also have to change rear struts, so this was bound to eventually happen.

You don't have to gut anything I only remove rt side trim in qtr. But if you're going to do the rear shocks at the same time just because then you'll have to swing in the other side panel to get it the nut that lets shock lower . You should be able to clean everything up and replace the fubar harness if that's so in bout three hours . Unless you see some very troubling things inside.
