Another EGR thread

I can not for the life of me get this thing to do this

 

I finally got it, i ended up replacing just the thermostat, the pump was in good shape.

I just drained and filled. Hardly noticed the difference between the new and old fluid. There's a whole lot of unknowns about the maintenance of this vehicle, so in good faith, this was probably for the best.

The leaking or evidence thereof was on the thermostat. I actually discovered why it was leaking there to begin with the gasket edge of the block where it mates was not exactly smooth. I smoothed it as best I could with a non - scarring pad. For good measure I used high tack gasket sealant (a light coat, heavier near the uneven area). I most definitely either got a refurbished pump using an OEM stamped pump housing or an all out fake. These eBay sellers went to Great lengths to make it look genuine. There were no QR codes, barcodes, serial numbers or anything, just Toyota Aisin stamped....

It will be returned. The thermostat was fake as well but comparing the two they were so close to being the same down to every detail i decided to use it. Pump is easier to get at if it does fail later. Also to note I spun the pump by hand new and old....it felt the same as I felt each magnet pulse. It very well could have been used as a very good pump but I'm not going to trust it. Every single detail on the thermostat was spot on. It's almost like it was the exact same part except no Toyota markings...

 

Yeah, I feel like those alone were the worst of the problem. I also may have misread the scantool P0300 not P3000. Big difference, idk ill check the scantool again sometime and see what shows up.

 

They have processed my refund but have not requested to return the product yet .

Does anyone have photos of a WPT-190 from Aisin? Not stock photos from online, something verifiable here. Detailed photos so I can compare. It could be a repackaged Aisin pump, the OEM Toyota branded Aisin pumps seem to have much more markings and such on them.

 

I am almost positive I now have a free water pump, to set things straight this was never my intention...I was fully ready to send the pump back even if I had to pay some of the shipping. But to get a full refund and not expect the product to be sent back....kinda says everything there is to know about who is selling these and what they are really selling. Their english is bad enough that I was confused as to why I was refunded before the part was returned. I do understand that returning and restocking sometimes costs more than the product itself and sellers will chalk it up as a loss just to maintain good public relations. I am in no way trying to label myself as a scammer, nor do I want that title...
