    And the dimples on that ball makes it rotate in a controlled manner, creating extra lift by that article and the researcher. Too many rpms and it is detrimental:D

    I was just thinking about this over the last couple of days: If this really worked, you could just buy some spray on texturing material (sold at Home Depot, et. al. for repairing textured sheetrock) and roughen up your Prius by spraying it on in a strategic manner. A cost saving tip for the frugal members of the forum. :madgrin:

    Whenever you use FastSkinz condoms, make sure you use plenty of Pulse & Glide brand lubricant. Ask for it by name.

    The heading had me thinking maybe someone has already tried something I've been contemplating in my quest for LRR tires. That is, getting a strip of innertube, possibly from a bicycle tire, about an inch wide, and stretching it around the circumference of each of the tires. This would give a narrow and smooth point of contact with the road, thereby "increasing the mpg by 18-20%." I'm sure there would be safety concerns, but with my conservative driving style I think it would be fine. Any takers?

    Just mill out the center and turn them down to fit. Great rolling resistance and your glides will be something of wonder. Best of all, no 'sprung weight.' Besides, the 2010 has four-wheel, disk brakes.

    I've always thought that the much-maligned space saver spare tire(s) could be a great fuel saving solution. Just mount four of them on the car in place of the original tires and wheels. The tires are rated for 60 psi (IIRC) and the max rated speed is 50 mph, so that will help with FE too. :madgrin:

    Actually, snake oil might make the car more "slippery" thereby decreasing the coefficient of drag a bit--if you could keep it from blowing off...

    How about a low voltage pump and a mist system attached the to front bumper? You could replenish the snake oil as it blows off the car. :madgrin:

    Anybody see any potential issues with that plan? :madgrin:

    K, this is just an update.
    I know it sounds hokey and some will argue it can hardly be considered "hard science" but on a recent episode of mythbusters (yeah, I know, I know) they managed to dimple a car so that fuel economy was improved.

    Don't know whether can infer that you'd get the same effect from the sheet of vinyl these guys are offering, but it's still an interesting result.
