Wow, Bob. It looks like you are well-respected here, :). Seeing all these requests for help, I feel terrible asking for any. Someone in the Gen 1 thread referred you. I'm merely hoping to find a link to a no-start checklist. If that doesn't get me going, I'd just take it to a tech. If you're too busy, don't even respond, I understand and appreciate that you've helped so many others.

IDK how this works as a means to reach you but am trying since it looks like we're both online. My 2002 Prius is having problems and I wondered if you would sell me a scanner that would function with this model. I am considering giving the car to a friend who wants to learn about these vehicles so it would be far better if I could give him a scanner to go with it.

You have a picture in a post from 2009 showing a gen1 Prius being towed with all 4 wheels on the ground behind a RV with a tow bar. The link you shared is no longer any good. Can you share any details on how to tow a Prius this way?

Bob - Sorry to bother you with this, but I have been looking for how you create a table in a post. I see other have do this, including you. What am I missing when I look at the formatting options in the forums?

      Bob,
It's been quite a while. What do you know about disabling the power steering on a 2002 prius.
Mine hit 250K recently and started with the PS errors and I'm tired of them.
      Thanks
      Mike

Hi Bob, I was searching through old posts and noticed a capacitor discharge experiment to revive dead NiMh batteries. I am working on similar experimentation and was wonder if you ever tried this and what your results were. Best!

Bob: I have just bought my third 2001 Prius. The transmission doesn't lock up when the shift lever is in the "Park" position. I posted an inquiry on Prius Chat but did not receive any significant replies. Do you know if there is an adjustment on the shift mechanism?

Bob, I dropped out of Prius Chat because a car forum seemed like a tough place to discuss social and political issues. I drop in occasionly and am glad you and Icarus (and a few others) are still fighting the "good fight".

      Thanks Richard Patterman

Bob your thoughts I bought this 2001 Prius with 116000 looks like it needs a new battery should I buy a used one or a reconditioned one installing it myself or should I just bite the bullet and have Toyota install a new one I own a garage and bought this car for personal use thank you !
