Howdy, I've had 3 Prius's , an 05 w/Faulty Self Aiming Headlights Dealership wanted to keep charging me $68 to re=aim headlights, should of been a Recall on crappy design flaw! They also screwed me on extended warranty purchase and reimbursement when I traded for my 2007 Touring Edition Model , I give the 07 Highest rating of the 3 because of Smart Key, Self Dimming Interior Mirror, and rear Back Up Camera! Some don't realize these have Powder Coated wheels under what Toyota thought were stylish but flimsy hub caps! The wheels were quite ugly w/cap on or off! If you drive off pavement you want to leave the hubcap or dust covers on vehicle or you can trash brakes quickly( I was very hard on this vehicle, drove it like a V-8 and occasionally took it on rocky roads where some won't take a pick up! Both the 05 and 07 Computer shut off at 108 mph uhhh ,,, so I was told !! ;-)) I sold it shortly after Toyota Dealership messed w/it and then it stared having dash light issues and then vehicle would not shut off, then hybrid battery may of needed replacement soon! It had around 210,000miles and used over a quart of oil between changes! I can not street enough to people to stick w/reliable oil change service or DIY and use same quality oil every time! These guys that just put in what they want and look at you like you have 2 heads when you ask for specific Brand and type and weight of oil!! Please Use what your Owners Manual calls for and you probably won't have the usage I had! Though It was still on factory Brakes and Suspension at 210,000 miles, I did replace the Inverter Cooler, water pump & catalytic converter over the years, and had just installed my 3rd set of NGK Iridium Spark Plugs at 189,000 or so. Each Set of plugs showed little signs of wear, I just could not wrap my head around 100,000 mile Spark Plug, but it's true, they last a long time ;-))

The 2013 Model IV has significantly more power and mpg but terrible uncomfortable front seats for me after an hour or so! The computer fuel shut off is set around 117 mph I understand. and the different modes do actually function well if you need to use them correctly! However I would like to see the EV mode go higher than 16mph before kicking off! I like the 15" tires because they are common and cheap compared to the 17-18 the 07 TE had! Buying special order studdable snows for Montana Winter driving were spendy compared to that of 15" tires. Back to the Front Seats, The cheap shorter bottom seat cushion simply put "sucks". I'm not a tall guy, but I am stout! I have talked w/folks shorter, taller, wider than me and I haven't heard anyone liking the seats that isn't over 140 pounds and over 5'5 !! I have been looking at trying to retrofit front seats out of Nissan Maxima! They are amazing, even the area under your legs is power adjustable, lumbar and other adjustments! I wished I would of bought the Persona Model that has a few added good looking add ons! Like the Alloy Wheels and specialty colors, Sunroof, not sure if in 2013 it was solar or not, but I'm not big on that anyway. Sounds like Im glad I didn't get solar roof model from what I gather!

The rear Seat Belts are like Tighteneing Straight jackets as you tap the Brakes and they don't loosen as you stop turn car off and pry the belts off them while they are scowling at me!!! YIKES!!! On the bright side, usually we take someone else's car now!!!, And in SoCal thats very nice , Hahahah Thanks Toyota for crappy Quality Control!

The Reverse Beeper is just stupid idea by some Engineer that was probably doing anything to save his/her/their job for past 20 years! Please smack them around w/some Jeet Ken Do for an hour or so and then repeat every morning they show up for work! I mean I get the Beeping, its a quiet car and admittedly in my 400,000+ miles of driving various Prius's it reminded me I was in reverse a time or two! Because I was thinking that choking was too good for Toyota Engineers! 1) Please Put a beeper on the outside, hello, where its needed. 2) Please Put a volume control on the Beeper on the inside so you can back up w/o everyone screaming at each other causing a wreck! 3)Please Get that Engineer thats responsible under back of my car and see if my car can go over them, just as an experiment! (I don't think it can)Toyota wants customers $$ to fix their own flaws! I hate to say this, but will probably be last Toyota I buy! If we go on a long trip, we found it less expensive to rent a Nissan! ( Actually, I don't know any company that rents Toyota out nowadays, that says something. ) Anyway, renting Saves immense wear & tear on my car, saves $90 for oil change, $30 for tire rotate, car detail, and less mileage that my insurance is keeping track of so my rates don't go up etc....

Toyota Please Bring Back Quality Control
Have people of all sizes and types drive your cars endlessly
    fix your flaws for free
