    I've never seen it. -42C didn't prevent me from starting, and I never use an engine heater.

    I live in a cold climate. I can't guarantee that my car performs as it does in a warmer one.

    I don't believe it wastes hot engine coolant when it's available. My car doesn't provide heat to the interior until the engine coolant...
