Look on eBay. There are tons of LED indicator lamps for whatever vehicle you own. Try a 10k 1/4w resistor in parallel with the lamp socket and see if that brings the blink rate back to normal. If it is still to fast, drop the resistor value down a bit until it blinks at the right rate. Do the math so you use the proper wattage resistor. Solder and heatshrink all connections so they are done right and will not cause issues later. Piece of cake :p

Wow, thanks. I appreciate you taking the time to post the correct answer. If I could free up the time, I would. Alas, I choose not to. I was hoping for a one-two let's go method.
    thank you again WEOH.

You may find some plug & play LED lamp assemblies on eBay, but the last time I was looking, there were separate resistors that were being sold so you would have to wire those in. Still easy as pie. Go for it.

2 or 3 years from now the wife says I will have a Gen 3 Prius and I assure you it will have all LED lighting. I just have to wait until some other cars here are paid off before we can take on another payment. We have 5 cars and a SUV already...For now I drive rental Prius's when we travel :D

I intend to change out some of the lights too but clearances and access to changing out the bulbs at the headlamp are pretty tight, and doing it blind too since its near impossible to see anything in there. Is it better to just loosen the screws on top of the assemble to gain access?

On the passenger side, you need to remove a bolt and move a hose and another piece--instructions are in the owners manual in the bulb replacement section.

It is a tight fit, but if you take your time, it's not that bad.

Has anyone tried using LEDs in lieu of the Blue Vision for the parking lights? I have seen some T10 wedge LEDs that are supposed to be replacements for W5W but the stock W5W is a T3 1/5 so I'm concerned that the LED won't fit.

    Hi there,

Yes, we have LED replacements for the parking lights on both Priuses - no problems so far, whether fit nor function-wise.

    Hello there gblatt,

The ones you found on eBay:

might very well fit - but I can't tell for sure. On the 3rd Gen Prius I have something like this:

which is excellent, but also a bit more expensive (12.99 USD from 194 T10 W5W 9smd Wedge bulb : eBay Motors (item 280340222998 end time Jul-23-10 20:51:41 PDT)). They are a quite tight fit, and maybe the 5-LED version (smaller/shorter):

    - which I use on the 2nd Gen Prius - would be a better choice. It's available from here: Xenon White T10 168 194 W5W Wedge 5 SMD 5050 LED LIGHT: eBay Motors (item 280537481016 end time Jul-23-10 14:13:39 PDT) .

The 9 LED version is VERY bright, almost too much so - but the do look quite cool  .

The SMD-type bulbs (2nd and 3rd pic) will be a lot brighter than the bulb in the first pic.

hello and welcome to PriusChat! We do have Japanese packages listed (S, G, S Touring, G Touring and G Touring with Leather) so feel free to adjust your profile!

The only thing different on the outside would be the addition of yellow reflectors for the headlights and red side reflectors for the rear taillight. We also have the underbody spoilers and the rear underbody spoiler as standard equipment.

I just got the 9 LED version in the 2nd pic. The are very tight and barley fit. The top LED looks like is just touching the glass. Not dark out here yet so I am eager to see what they look like. I will post pics.

Wow, the 9 LED replacement is pretty bright. It looks a little whiter too than the LED headlights.
