Really? You've missed the part I've repeated over and over that the car has s brand new optima battery that is in spec for the vehicle ? Trying to insult me and baiting me is really uncalled for

I've had bought BRAND NEW batteries with DEFECTIVE cells before that appear to be within spec - until you do a load test to get rid of the surface charge.

Ive run the tests - I've told all of you the battery is fine. You are all in denial. I am on vacation. Unless you are a real Toyota technician with real advice please save yourself the time and don't respond

Actually what make sense is that he has a stuck brake pad.

Note that when he puts it into B the engine shuts off (In BRAKE mode that makes sense)

With a a dragging pad or possibly E Brake, it would cause enough drag to keep the load high enough to keep the ICE going.

Jack up the car and see if the brakes are binding...

Please don't close it. I want to find out what the problem is when/if it finally does get resolved. Personally I think it's something to do with the leak, as was speculated early on in the thread.

He's never going to discover his problem...he doesn't really want to, and he's such an a-hole to everybody nobody's going to take him seriously or try to help him.

I am also interested in seeing a resolution.

Also, OP: did you happen to change the tires around the time you had the issue (if so, to what)?

Thank you, your opinion has been noted. I have been here long enough to see people called trolls who aren't. Don't ignore the OP, just ignore the thread if you don't like it.

I hope the OP can resolve the problem but I do take offence at his abuse of my friends. Rene' is a very smart lady and didn't deserve the spray. I really do not understand what is so hard about posting a number between 10 and 15 to 1 decimal place but it could be tough for some. Maybe it's a religious thing, religion is to blame for most of life's woes.
