    Hey All,
Hopefully someone has some ideas... my radio was working fine on Friday, but the next time I drove the car, on Sunday, the radio wouldn't turn on. The power button doesn't do anything, pressing the mode button doesn't do anything and the voice command button doesn't do anything. Everything else works... bluetooth, display, Nav. Just the radio/CD player won't turn on... it just says "Audio Off".
Also, when I go into the diag screen, the Audio reports "NCON".
I've checked the fuses listed in the Owners Manuel as audio and they all seem fine.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

Hit the face plate of the stereo with the palm of your hand. If you find that the stereo starts to work, then there is a loose connection at the face plate.

I am having the exact same problem - radio quit working and will not turn on.

I had to jump start the Prius after leaving it parked for a few months. The radio was working initially but the next time I started the car it was dead. I have put a 2 amp charger on the battery to unsure it is fully charged. The battery voltage seems fine at 12.5 volts but the radio will not turn on.

I am also getting the same "NCON" code.

I have tried banging the face plate too.

Hmm, I would try pressing on the left side of the faceplate before hitting it... but that's just me. That "fixes" the problem I have w/the volume knob sometimes not working/going crazy that's been discussed in another thread.

Try removing the HU and checking the 2 connector from the left. Make sure you push it all the way in and that should make your radio work again. Also test the fuses on the fuse box under the steering wheel dash, one of them might have popped.

Same thing happened my Prius today. The radio power button doesn't do anything and there is no audio. The Bluetooth connects but there is no audio. Tried the gentle press approach by no avail. Is there any fuse I need to check?

In case it is just the switch that is faulty, have you tried the On/Off toggle on the steering wheel? Just hold the Mode button down for 3 (or so) secs. Does it switch on this way?

Anyone have a solution? My 2011 horn stopped working, I bought it to the dealership, they told me it would cost $800 (plus service hours) to replace the part/assembly. Now my radio doesn't turn on. It will intermittely turn on if I press a station button, but all the presets go to one station and act as an on/off switch. The radio has no LED screen at times. It seems it's all an electrical issue. What solutions has anyone found?

Whats the deal new radio & new amp? Is radio and amp lighting up?

if radio fuse blew the combo meter is out too Dome fuse
If amp dead its the 30 amp fuse
If amp not turning on its the ACC fuse.

Unless you ran separate 12 volt power to the 12 volt battery for the amp? You got 12 volts at the amp fuse?

With car in either acc or ON unplug the line level input to the amp then plug in another rca cable turn the amp up and just touch the tip of the rca plug see if you hear buzzing...loud buzzing every time you touch the rca tip. If you have good clean buzzing amp is probably ok then its the radio. No buzz you blew the amp up or the AMP REMOTE turn on 12 volts is not there on the blue/white wire when car on.
Hopefully the amp has an on indicator light.

Hello. Mine has started working again as have the steering wheel buttons. I have some theories. It was very damp in the car due to a window that won't fully close and a freezing cold spell of weather. It's now dried out. Or maybe theres a loose connection in the clock spring that has reconnected itself. And lastly I disconnected the negative battery terminal for 15 mins. That didn't fix it immediately but it was a few days after that it started working again. You could try running your ac on max heat to dry out the car and also rotatong the steering wheel to fix yhe ock spring. I'm going to replace the clock spring if it happens again.

What do you mean by rotating the steering wheel, is it a specific rotation and angle?

So for the 12v battery you disconnected black negative cable and left the red one plugged in?

Hi. Turned the steering wheel about half way round then pressed the buttons. It's weird now because ill press the auto climate control and rear heated window comes on. Those buttons are all a bit random.

I disconnected the ground to the car as it's easier and safer than anything else. You need a 10mm spanner or socket. Just leave it long enough to fully reset the ecu as there is some residual power.

Have you tried the on board diagnostic. What does that say for audio and amp?

I started hearing a squaking rattling noise inside my steering wheel a few days before the radio went out. And also the drivers side power windows button for the right passenger and rear stopped working. Do you think it's correlated?

    What is the onboard diagnostic?
